AWD transit in sand

Highlander

The Strong, Silent Type
Around February I rented a 2020 Transit, short with low roof, 2WD from U-haul. I think it was one of those atmospheric engines since I didn't see an EcoBoost sign. Not a bad engine at all btw.
We loaded it with 2 big sofas and some bags.
On the way home, in CT, we hit a snow storm.
My driveway is somewhat steep. I straggled to drive up, but then I discovered it had a snow mode, which I turned on and give it another try.
To my surprise the van did drive up without too much of a straggle. It kept slipping here and there but overall performs after having the mode engaged was remarkable different.
If a 2wd van is that capable then a Transit with AWD & Ecoboost with proper would be very very good.
