van has been on stands for months during my intermittent struggle with the leaf spring bolts.
I reassembled it and found no brakes... plenty fluid in master cyl, no leaks to be found, some old grime on and around the master cyl

What happpened my brakes were new and great?

pedal did not pump up either
i always have got pressure from pumping the pedal (like for bleeding the brakes)

anyone experienced this situation?

Most likely, you've got contamination under a seal someplace. Lack of use, with parts out of their "normal" position, fluid will move to lowest points, etc. This may have let you push one of the pistons past where it would normally go with routine use, which can pick up debris from the bore and cause fouling.

Remember too that brake fluid is hygroscopic, so it will pick up moisture to some degree, even in a "closed" system, which will also make for poor operation.

I'd start with a flush and bleed.
