Are Surface cracks on front diff a problem?

I was under the the front today when I noticed these surface cracks all over. The oil level was full and none of the cracks are leaking. I did a search but couldn’t find an answer. Runs perfect and 4x4 engages fine but don’t want a grenade it if this is a warning.

Are they cracks or casting marks? The pictures make them look to be higher than the surrounding surface and look like casting marks from manufacturing.

Better check how much end play that yoke has, we had an expedition grenade the input off when the bearing failed and the pinion got too far into the ring gear.

I was only able to find one other image that looked similar online. They don’t appear to be casting marks but it could be sloppy work. I’ll check the yolk

They definitely look like casting marks..If they were cracks and that large you would have leaking..

Thank you! You guys are awesome. Yes, some are raised above the surface.
Planning a trip to Colorado in the snow, not the ideal place to break down. I was definitely concerned.
