I didn't read your link because I know mine works accurately instantly. When I leave Houston and it is 80 and get into the mountains it will instantly provide the correct temperature. It doesn't take a month for it to tell me it is 28 outside. I know it is reading a correct temp because I also have a mercury based thermometer.Sorry, but completely wrong
As I said, they use trends, over long periods.
Per Acurite, their learning mode calibration lasts 33 days.

Now if you are talking about the forecasting of these units then yes, it is trend based.
PS I reread the post and made my comment because I thought the OP wanted current conditions. I see you mentioned forecasting and I didn't catch that.
