Anyone else have problems with FrontRunner products for their Jeep JKU?

Anyone else have or had issues with Front Runner products? I purchased the roof rack, sliding tray and shelf. Spent about $2,500 and all the large ticket items had an issue. Waiting to hear from them what they will do to correct the problems but they're not very responsive. I get an email or two a week in communication...it's becoming a little annoying.

I have the shelf and slide out tray...had no issues. Fit like a glove and operate well. What were your issues??

The tray hits the crossmember when empty but still functions, once I add my fridge or anything else it no longer opens and closes fully. I need to lift it in order to open it or close it. The first response from Frontrunner was that I didn't cut the carpet up front which caused the crossmember to get tweaked. Personally I find that odd. I removed the slide tray, cut the carpeting and it still hits the crossmember.

The shelf just rattles...does it rattle for you?

The roof rack is my biggest issue right now...

I also have the shelf and slide out tray. Both are very solid and function well.

Proper installation is key with these products. I had a specialist 4x4 shop install mine.

I have a Slimline II roof rack with a handful of their accessories and haven't had any issues with their products, also installed them myself. I did have questions regarding one of their products and got several timely responses.

What do you mean the roof rack is your biggest issue?

I have a few issues with the rack.

1. It's whistling. I have a James Baroud RTT on my rack and starting from about 25mph and up it whistles constantly. Perhaps I need to play with the positioning of the RTT since there's room to move the tent fore and aft.
2. The bracket that rest on the top of my roof is bent and doesn't sit flush with the rubber bushings to create a water tight seal.
3. The directions did not mention that if you have the headliner in your top, you need to remove it. This plus the fact that the bracket the directions say to use as the template to drill the holes in your top was also bent. So I couldn't align the bracket to the curvature of the top. It caused my drill holes to be off by 1 inch. Once I peeled off the headliner, it was obvious that the bracket was bent and never aligned to the curvature of the top. So now my hard top is like swiss cheese.

Are you running the air deflector at the front-bottom of the rack? Without the deflector, it will whistle like crazy... with it, my rack it totally silent.

I have a head liner and simply cut out the headliner where the bracket needs to sit. I don't think they'd need to mention that you would have to remove your headliner, since it too is an aftermarket addition.

That really sucks about the holes being off, I don't understand how the bracket could be bent and you didn't notice before drilling the holes. I was very nervous to drill 16 massive holes in my hardtop, made sure everything was square and lined up.

My headliner is OEM, came from the factory like that.

which aftermarket headliner did you get? I might need to replace mine now.

Didn't realize they offered them out of the factory with a headliner. Mine is a HotHeads, since I added it I figured the roof rack supports/mounts needed to sit flat against the top, so cutting them only made sense.

I forgot to mention. I do have the front air deflector installed on the roof rack. I have the tent mounted towards the rear, so now I'm wondering whether moving it forward might make the whistling go away...

I purchased interior shelf for my JKUR-very impressed with the quality of components-However, final install of bottom panels was extremely frustrating due to design. The shelf is exactly what I was looking for-But when unloaded it rattles like crazy. Phone calls were not returned but Bryan did answer my e-mail but had no answer about the rattling. Since I will have it loaded when off road, I have decided to keep it but if I had known about this issue I would not have purchased it.

I bought this one last week and it is very nice. Supposed to be OEM.

Thanks! I didn't realize you can buy OEM from Amazon.

I agree...the design is nice. I didn't think about the fact that when loaded with weight it's less likely to rattle. During my last trip, I had so much in the back that I didn't notice any rattles.

Bryan is the one I spoke to when I first called and have subsequently been playing email tag.

Not at all...what year is your jeep? They included a cross member with mine for early models but I didn't need to use it for the 2013.Full extension and no hitting of anything.
