Any RTT's builders/makers over here?

I'm not making an RTT, but my poptop truck camper is tent walled. I'm working out details on the awning some of the RTT's have over their windows. It's a how they stay in place with just that tension pole...

Hope to hear from someone that may have a clue.. Got a feeling it's just a math things on the angles.

I’ve never tried to sew a RTT, but yeah, it’s just simple angles. The tension rod comes in horizontally at about a 45-50 degree to the base. It goes through a grommet in the corner so the tension rods are both trying to pull the awning out and away from the tent. This is also why they flap so nicely in the wind, there is no compression member between them. If you were willing to invest 30 seconds per window in sliding a rigid rod through a sewn tube, you could eliminate or reduce a lot of flapping.
