An expedition truck on portals...

It are Hutchinson Double Beadlock military wheels as used on the Mercedes G (Wolf)
As the bottom flange of the bolt-on portals can easily be replaced with one with a different bolt pattern I choose the Mercedes G bolt pattern for my regular driving and expeditions.
For the planned winter trip I will change the flange to match the Hummer H1 bolt pattern as I will then use 40" tyres on the H1 wheel with the run-flat ring.

So long,

Robert

"Daily driver" tyre size is, for the time being, 315/75R16 (roughly 35").....and now we´re fiddling with the CTIS lines....

...and because curiosity is bigger than patience, we just lifted the front axle to it´s new hight, placed the tyre....

....and checked the height above ground....

I have to disagree. That is NOT a sexy rig. Porsche's are sexy.

What you have there is tough.
Manly.
Macho.
Si, muy Macho.

I'm admittedly not a LR fan; I used to drive 110s and 130s as part of my job and hated 'em. But what you 've done here...

Well done.

Shall I drive through Norway on my way to St. Petersburg this summer then? :smiley_drive:

But don´t worry, it´s just the same for me as I dreamed of mounting portals for the last 5 years and never expected it to look that great...:wings:

Now that is some sweet work right there !

And those wheels !!! What are those !

God if I had time and money and lets not forget talent to come up with such a ride !

Keep us posted with further test and a evaluation of costs for such a project.

Thanks for sharing !

Congrats, that's awesome. Any noise from the straight cut gears?

I probably just missed it, but is that a 110 or 130?
