What a beautiful looking Sprinter.In Colorado and on our way to Elwood Pass

Arriving in Colorado we left the "bicycle" CDT and took left turn at Elwood Pass to start following the route, Overland Routes | New Mexico and the Continental Divide, described on Expedition Portal. Elwood Pass was the start of a trail maintained by a local Jeep club and followed Elwood creek on a fun from Forest Service road 380 trail to Hwy 160.
Some of the group decided to skip this section and continue on to Monte Vista with plans to reconnect the next day on South Fork
Visiting old cabin sites on Elwood Creek
We regrouped the next day and had a relaxing stay along the Rio Grande river for the 4th of July
And then it was off to Stoney Pass
Headwaters of the Rio Grande

Current Trip Status
I've only been able to update the trip report when I have internet connection and time. So, needless to say, my posts are a bit behind our current location/status. Today, August 1st, four members of the group arrived at Seeley Lake, Montana. We have decided to attempt to cross the Canadian boarder on the 9th when it is suppose to open for vaccinated U.S. residents. With luck, time in an area with good cellular connections will enable me to catchup the trip report.

The approach to Engineer Pass from Ouray had several rocky sections along the trail.

It was great crossing paths with y'all in NM for a couple days.
When I got to the border on July 20, it was still closed, so that ended my Continental Divide trip on day 25. Spent a couple weeks in Washington and Montana visiting friends and family, and returned home to ABQ on August 7 after 43 days on the road.
Hope to travel with your group again in the future.
