Hey All,

We've recently become a supporting vendor and just received a shipment of new Alu-Cab product just in time for summer camping season. If you have not seen the new Alu-Cab Gen 3 rooftop tents yet, they are very impressive. In the 30+ years, we've been in business, we've had the opportunity to test, use, and abuse many brands and models of hard-shell RTT's and this one is by far our favorite.

Features
Aerodynamic CAD designed
Full Aluminum Hard-Shell
Built-in T-track, top, bottom & sides
Fabric: 400-gram UV-resistant rib-lock waterproof canvas with sealed seams
Length: External 90.5" / Internal 82.5"
Width: External 55.1" / Internal 51.1" (@ shoulders)
Height (closed): Front 8.25" / Rear 9.8"
Height (open): Exterior - 78.75" / Interior - 63"
Mattress: 3" High-density foam mattress with zip-off cover
Mesh: Doors/windows fitted with high-quality mosquito netting
Insulation: Polyethylene closed-cell foam
Weight: Approx. 194 lbs
Electrics
2 Stalk lights, USB charge point, 12v point & power lead
Storage
6 Internal storage bags for books, shoes, toiletries etc.
Load Bars (Optional)
1250 & 1450mm widths (110lb load capacity)

With the aluminum shell and built-in T-track on both the top and sides, the ability to expand your configuration to accommodate a load is a key feature. Now you can add solar panels, load bars, awnings, bikes, kayaks, SUP boards etc. without fear of damaging the shell. Configuration, accessories, and installation are all things we are happy to help with.

Tents - $3,999
Awnings - $1,499

I've had some questions about mounting applications. The mounting brackets that come with these tents allow for complete flexibility to mount to any type of rack or load bar that utilizes a T-track. Below are a few shots of one of our demo rigs for a visual...

For anyone interested, we recently mounted a Shadow awning to one of our shop trucks. The awning mounts directly to the tent via 2 Alu-Cab corner mount brackets, so no additional mounting to your vehicles roof rack is necessary. 107 sq.ft of instant shade deployable by a single person definitely makes camp life easier.

And for those of you who would like to add the optional load bars as well, we found that the RockyMounts DriveShaft HM mount ($75) fits perfectly and is a great solution for carrying bikes up top...

Do you still have the tents in stock? Do you have one for display that we can climb in and check out the inside?

We still have a few in stock and for sure, we have a demo unit you can view (the Tacoma in the pics above). PM me if you would like to connect and make an appointment to come have a look.
Thx

@Mudrak Custom Cruisers , is the tent rated and/or structural enough to hold full load without utlizing load bars? That is, if custom brackets where made to mount the tent directly to 6x OEM rack mounting points in the roof channels to suspend the tent only slightly above the roof skin; completely bypassing load bars to decrease profile.

As long as your OEM rack mounting points roughly match the width of the brackets that are provided w/ the tent (which have a slide mount to adjust to specific widths), then for sure. Structurally, these tents are built like a tank. Look at the mounting brackets below that tie into the side and bottom T-track. As long as whatever your mounting it to can fit that width, you are good to go. It does not need the support of load bars since the bottom track acts as a built-in load bar.

This is probably a better picture that shows how the side T-track relates to the bottom T-track and built-in load bars. I see what you are saying, and worst case, if the brackets that come equipped with the tent can't match the width of the OEM capture nuts that exist on your roof, you would just need a flat low profile custom bar that mounts to the capture nuts and provided a place for the brackets to tie into
