Alaskan Camper '84/'14 Build Thread

Thanks man!
At this point it seems like a mind over matter game, the list of small things needed to be completed to make it usable seems endless :)

You would think that in the last two months I would have something significant to report, but not really, bogged down with trim. Plus I have spent too much time screwing off :)
I have the remaining two dozen pieces of aluminum getting powder coated this week. Most of it is for the doors, I'll post pics when I get it installed, should be done Thursday.

These are the parts prior to powder coating, much more time than you would think to make, mostly the measuring and layout.

Had to roll the camper out to rearrange the shop and get some new (old) cabinets in. I figured I would pop the top and take some pics. First time it's been outside :) I was a bit irritated that I had to roll it back in.

Wow, great job with your restoration, that looks better than new! I've been looking around for a restoration candidate for awhile now, but finding Alaskans on the east coast is like hen's teeth. I look forward to seeing more updates!

Wow, I have not updated in a while. I have the cabinet frames, countertop with Smev stove and sink all in, along with the furnace. Put in some bamboo flooring on the floor and battery and water compartments. It's all water tight, just need to get back on normal work hours and get it outside. I IMG_0028.jpg

You are creating a serious testament to Yankee craftsmanship. Still, I hope some day you actually go camping with it.

I keep trying to buy one of these, but they end up selling faster than I can get time off to pick them up.

Thanks all.
It's definitely going on the truck this summer, I have several trips booked with it.
