Airflow and Idle Issue

Hi,

Gen 3 montero low idle, no stalling, already replaced air box, and MAF, no IAC. Also, I cleaned the intake manifold, and throttle body. (both in good shape) What is next?

I recently picked up this gen 3 montero and it came with an air flow issue. Initially, i thought it was an idle air control valve but that part doesn't exist on the car as diagramed. Any info on this part? Fun stuff. So that is, technically still up in the air. Part of the issue was the snorkel air system and i replaced the air box because i found a 2002 montero limited at a local pick a part. Still looks mostly intact which is great for me for now.

You followed me, so now we're both lost
The low idle is almost always a vacuum leak on these vehicles. Check all of the rubber hoses and the diagram. My 01 had this problem when a shop put the hoses on backwards. My 05 had this issue from an incorrect sized replacement hose.

Also know that the vacuum system hoses extend down to the front differential actuator.
