Adding Renogy battery Charger to Land Rover LR3

I am installing a Renogy battery charger, and I need to attach the smart alternator IGN port to my ignition. anyone point me in a good direction? should I tap the wire at the ignition cylinder, or would there be a good fuse to jump?

The LR3 does have a variable output alternator from factory.

Oh that's great I had read somewhere to the contrary. I have the lead all put together so I will just wire it all up.
