Sometimes I miss film... This is an image circa 1978 of my old elementary school in Southeastern Ohio, built circa 1872. I was a student there in the late 1960s. Long gone now.

I toured Fort Jackson several years ago, but I didn't realize there were fortifications on the east side of the river as well. It makes sense when I look at the river bend on Google Maps.

I gather you got to Fort St Phillip by boat, as I cannot see any roads or trails one could drive on in Google Maps. Looks like a pretty big area to explore.

Does it get submerged at times, it looks kind a muddy in your last image?

Yeah Fort St Philip is under water after hurricanes and when the river is high. I launched my kayak from Fort Jackson and kayaked across and spent about 20 minutes trying to find a dry area to get into the fort. I will be going back soon so I'll post some more photos when I do.
