A family camping trip in a series 1

Ditch the generator. When it frags on the trip, you'll never find parts. Switch it out for a simple alternator, that can be rebuilt anywhere. It's getting harder and harder to find generator parts, especially Lucas ones.

Yep, done already. It now has a simple Alternator with ample output.

Decided to put together a simple little aluminum roof rack for light bags. Tony from Iron Goat 4x4 is a neighbor and he has been amazing helping me do last minute stuff.

Watching this with great interest.

The patina on that paintwork is lovely, do you have any interior shots?

For those who haven't seen it. This is the first overland, the book is also worth buying as it's a great read.

Spare about 38 minutes to watch it.

I'm desperately trying to add a series 1 to sit beside my D3. Sadly even the rough ones here are a lot of cash and decent ones are way out my price range.

Looks great! I'll definitely be following this! Do you have any pictures of how you mounted the jerry cans on the front bumper?

Truck is at the dock. We have packed up our house, and are currently in a rental car heading east to the Mid Atlantic Overland Festival. After that we fly to the UK to meet the truck.

The upgrade to a full floating rear axle was a good choice. Do you have a more detailed build thread somewhere?

So we spent a month in the UK and are currently in Avignon in the South of France. The truck has been a rolling breakdown but it's still rolling. :)
This week we visit Nice.
