Found this no rust Jem at a mom and pop place for cheap. It’s a 5 speed manual with limited slip rear. All aluminum DOHC v6 that runs like new! I sold my 99 Wrangler for $9k, using that as a budget for this guy. Nothing huge planned, but ordered an ARB winch bumper, last one in the country per ARB rep! It’s stuck in customs. New poly rope winch. New wheels, new shocks. I’m probably going to do new OME springs in the back for a 1.5” lift. New mud tires soon, haven’t picked brand or size yet. This will be for exploring and camping. No roof system for me, just good old tent and coolers.

Nice find, I had a Trooper for a while and loved it. I went with a set of Rodeo wheels and BFG's
Did great off road and would hold a ton of gear. Troopers are underrated and overlooked.

Good luck with your build. I've had mine since 95 and still love it. I thought about selling it a few years ago but couldn't do it. My listing info is below. I'm thinking about trying to find a pop top to fit on top and gut the rear for inside sleeping and more storage space. My wife and dog might not agree.

Custom ARB style custom front bumper (K/C driving lights) with receiver mount for portable Bulldog winch wired for front or rear use. Cal Mini stabilizer bars F/R, HD torsion bars, rear springs, F/R bump stop extensions. Independent 4X HD tie rods, lower links on 1” body lift and 1” coil spacers, braided brake lines, poly sway bar bushings. Rancho 9000 shocks and steering stabilizer. WARN manual hubs, 2 Optima batteries, cat back exhaust, K&N air filter, Waag side steps/tail light covers. Yakima roof rack. Limited slip. American Racing 16” Mohave rims with BFG 285 A/T. New Pioneer stereo/CD player and speakers. Recent automatic transmission rebuild, power steering pump, A/C compressor, upper/ lower ball joints, control arm bushings, front ceramic brake pads/rotors.

Test fit bumper, fits great! Had to plasma torch a couple useless mounts off, but then it all bolted right up!

I need to clock my winch before it goes in the bumper. Probably Saturday before I get it installed.

Love it. I had a 96-ish a few years back. I really liked it. Underrated platform. Occasionally i search around to see if i can find another cheap.
