Great looking rig! How would this work for a foreigner to purchase and register the vehicle in South Africa? Thanks.

Hi.

For a foreign national to purchase and register a vehicle in South Africa you will need to apply for a TRN (Traffic Registration Number) also sometimes referred to as ANR. The biggest challenge with this is having a local address, but I will be able to assist a buyer with this.

Not sure what your travel plans would be but note for the record that the South African model Euro 2 spec truck cannot be registered for example in the USA due to their emission laws. I assume you may have similar issues in the EU also?

The Euro 2 spec truck is however ideally suited for travel on the African continent as it will happily run on both 50ppm or 500ppm diesel. This is important as 50ppm diesel is not always readily available in Africa.

There is a vast number of tourists, especially Germans, that purchase trucks in either South Africa or Namibia to travel the continent during their holidays from Europe. They store the trucks in SA or Namibia in between their annual or more regular holidays.
So it is something that is commonly done.

Is there a pass thru from the cab to the living space?

Hi. No currently there is no pass-thru, there are only corresponding sliding windows fitted. We do however already have the build plans for a pass-thru as it is something we were going to do eventually. So this can be done for you locally and reasonably economically if required.
