The final of my 3 consecutive weekends out was a trip to Ocala National Forest for the Fox Family Easter overland outing. It was a great weekend meeting people I've known through Instagram as well as meeting some new now friends. Ran some trails some of which got so tight we had to cut down branches and even a downed tree that was over the trail in our way. And to finish the event off I won a 55 inch summit series cvt awning that fits the rear awning brackets on my J30 perfectly. All in all a great trip.

Today I went over to a friend's house and he helped me install some led strings on my rear view window to add more light for cooking and in general while out camping. I think it came out great. We have them on a dimmer so I can adjust how much light there is. Also this weekend I installed the evo evap skid plate in prep for my July trip to Moab and CO. getting closer to being ready to roll. Also with having the j30 and it being all carpeted makes it really easy to mount the dimmer with Velcro.

Well done. A very creative idea!

I also realized I had not updated this thread in a little bit. A few weeks ago we got out to picayune strand for some trail riding and camping for the night. Then went all nasty and dirty the next day to a coffee cars bike event and the looks were awesome lol. I also attended the Morris 4x4 event last weekend and entered their show n shine. Has been a good few weekends.

Thanks Jeff I cannot take credit at all for this. Trailrecon and overlandx posted a how to on this a few weeks ago that made it all possible to do. Was wanting to do something like this and after they put it out there made it really easy to do.

I really like the look of this project and have been thinking about how to improve the lighting in the rear cargo area. But then I saw this online:

https://www.quadratec.com/p/ikonic/cargo-light-07-17-jeep-wrangler-jk-factory-hardtop

More expensive, but only a 5-minute install and has really good reviews. Seems like that is always the trade off . . .

I think I will try this iKonic Cargo Light product, since I have plenty of other DIY projects on the list already. Will post a review here if anyone's interested.

Yeah I like that however with my Ursa Minor top I chose not to include the rear wiper assembly so I could not use this. I figure at some point if I really want to add one back in I could but didnt want the initial cost from UM for it. FIgure I could always find one at junk yard or elsewhere for cheaper. I also have some LED lights in the Top in the rear but the shelf and items on said shelf tend to block those lights.

I found a front set of half doors that just happened to be painted in Gobi. Not too far away and at a great price. Picked them up today. Now to find some rears. Glad to have at least the front half doors again. With the uppers on it looks a tad strange but will not once the rears are added.

I just finished my big trip that I have been talking about wanting to do for years. Finally was able to make it to Moab UT and then off to Telluride, Silverton, Ouray area of CO. It was myself and one other Jeep. We left after I got off work on July 3rd and the plan was to drive 2 1/2 days out to Moab. We did a total of 5095 miles over 15 days. It was an epic trip to say the least. We hit Moab for 3 days and did Top of the World, Hells Revenge, Fins N Things, and then Gemini Bridges and ran back through Pucker Pass. We were going to stay another day in Moab but it was just way too hot and we wanted the cooler temperatures of CO. Once in CO we hit Imogene Pass, Mineral Creek, Poughkeepsie gulch, Engineer Pass, Alpine Loop, Cinnamon Pass, Picayune Gulch, Placer Gulch, Black Bear Pass, and Ophir Pass. That was the planned trails. We had a few extra days and while in Silverton we got some great info and decided to run Stony Pass over to Crede and then drove the Silver Thread byway to South Fork where we went into the Rio Grande National Forest and ran it towards Carson and into Carson National Forest while slowly working our way back towards Amarillo TX. I will post some pics coming up but the Jeeps worked flawlessly. The only issue the entire trip was a leaking front diff for me which I monitored and filled as needed during the last half of the trip until I got back home and had it fixed. We drove every day slowly enjoying the trails and passes and were usually on the road around 9am and at 4pm we would start looking for a place to stay for the night. The trip turned out to be so much more than I imagined. If I had any complaint it would be in regards to the numerous side by sides that just ran as fast as they could everywhere. Once we got away from the main passes in CO we stopped really seeing them which was nice but I can see the side by sides being a huge issue in the near future out there if they are not already. They just go go go without really any enjoyment of the area at all. I would say it was easily 20-1 ratio of side by sides to vehicles. Outside of that if you ever have the opportunity to see that area I would tell you to not hesitate and go. I will start posting pictures of the trip soon!!! I have so many pictures and videos that it is very overwhelming at this moment going through it all.
