I’m selling my 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Long Bed with Go Fast Campers (GFC) V1 Camper and awning. I’ve been happy with both the truck and the camper; but an unusual opportunity arose to upgrade to another platform I’ve been wanting to try and so the truck has to go (for now).

Price: $41,000.

Location: Fort Collins, Colorado.

More photos here.

The Tacoma includes the technology package (better stereo, sun roof), winter package (heated seats, heated mirrors), and towing package (transmission cooler, engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, a heavy-duty 130-amp alternator, a 4- and 7-pin connector). It is at about 108,9xx miles now. More details below.

The GFC is an early build (#297). It has a side door on the driver’s side of the tent and front and back windows in the GFC (rear-view mirror remains functional). The original hinges, which were a failure point in the V1s, have been replaced with the upgraded embassy hinges by GFC. The GFC has been great – offering quick setup and takedown of the tent and excellent access to all 3 sides of the truck bed. An Alu-Cab telescoping ladder, with angled steps for comfy climbing up to the tent side door, is included.

A 23Zero Peregrine 270-degree awning is also included.

More details on the truck and camper:
  • We’re the second owner of the truck and have had it since about 64,000 miles. It has been stored in a carport.
  • It has two incidents in its vehicle history. The first is minor hail damage to the hood; which is barely visible. And during our ownership it had a cosmetic dent to the passenger side on an off-road trail that was professionally repaired.
  • It has a very small dent and some chipped paint around the passenger door handle.
  • There are some small pits in the windshield which are covered with tape. They have been there since I purchased the vehicle in 2018 without changing.
  • The truck has been maintained regularly and all the records are available. The tires are COOPER DISCOVERER AT3 4S with 25k miles on them.
Upgrades on the truck:
  • Bilstein 5100 suspension and Icon Add-a-Leaf. It maintains stock ride height with the GFC (and even a decent load of camping gear) and handles a lot better than the stock suspension did prior to replacement at 90k miles.
  • It came with a Bed Rug which makes the truck bed more comfortable as a camper and significantly reduces dust ingress.
  • Stock tailgate cover was replaced with a metal tailgate cover (made by a friend, unbranded). This is covered by the bed rug and a lot more comfortable to climb up on than the stock corrugated one.
  • I wired a cigarette lighter 12v port to the bed to charge a battery pack. It operates on a relay and is only on when the truck is running. I’ve been charging at 10amps. The bed also has stock AC power - 100W when driving and 400W when parked.
  • Upgraded headlights to a 65W H9 that produces better light output than the original bulb.
  • Upgraded the backup lights with a slightly higher wattage bulb that again improves light output.
  • Technical Service Bulletin 77 software upgrade which has resolved, in my opinion, the “gear hunting” issue in the 3rd gen Tacoma.
