I bought these racks in 2016 from Voodoo. I was excited, giddy to be honest. Opening the box I was thrilled to get them installed. Unfortunately, I used to build powder coating equipment in my college days, and the edges of the metal looked to be suspect. I installed them anyway, fearful of what might happen, excited for how these might hold my DIY RTT on the back of my Taco.
2 months in, the rust began to emerge. At first, it was like eczema, slowly growing rough discoloration that made me itch a bit. A few weeks more, and the rusty corrosion was pretty visible and bad. Contacted VF for a remedy, they told me to "go pound sand fix it yourself fool" - something about their powder coating vendor messing it up. Sorry, Charlie.
Anyway, I have been using these for 3 years and actually think it is a good product for what it is, but I wouldn't buy from them again. Strong, durable, and safe, albeit trying to look like a '56 Chevy in a farmer's field. Works well, obviously needs some love and attention, but a good deal for someone looking to get inexpensive, stout racks for their bed.
