I really wanna see what GM does with the ZR2 package before I pull the trigger on one of these trucks.

And, there is the selection of cheap leveling kits to prop the front up just a bit.

Zone Offroad (Body lift available as well)

I'm sure there are many other products in development as well. I've heard rumours suggesting ProComp is working on a 6" kit, as well as a smaller lift, around 3".

I'm definitely digging the Icon/TC style setup. I mainly want to see if they change the A-arm length on the zR2, and if it comes with locking diff's. would make me so happy. I'm not holding out for the integrated winch, but it sure is cool with the controls on the dash like the concept.

Very cool stuff.

It's a bit odd though - Icon seems to suggest a maximum tire size of 32x11, despite an up-to-3in front lift.
I would've thought they would've tried to find a way to fit 33s. I think a 2015 Colorado with 255/80R17s could be very cool.

According to what I've read, GM has fitted the largest tire size under the ZR2 to package. Without rubbing or cutting that is.

Looks like this new generation colorado already has more aftermarket support than the first gen. I like the icon stuff. I don't see anything too "bro" about the bds kit.

This is "bro." 8" lift and huge wheels.

Subframe lift kits often are not a big hit among the expo crowd, because although they give the lift needed to run bigger tires, and help a lot with approach, breakover, and departure angles, the crossmembers still hang fairly low, and usually, neither suspension travel nor performance are increased.

That said, I feel that in some cases they are the best option. Sometimes a 1-2.5" lift is just not enough, and subframe kits help keep the drivetrain angles in check.

Looks like this new Colorado/Canyon is poised to be a much bigger player in the mid-size truck arena than the 1st gen was. I'm excited to see what kind of builds people do with these.

.

Fixed it for you

It's interesting to me that no one is building new fenders and bed sides with raised wheel wells. I think the Canyon/Colorado both suffer from very low arches - thus, rather than screwing with the suspension, fix the issue - fender interference. Best part, factory warranties stay intact. The only reason to go up in altitude is to gain clearance because the lower your CG, the better you are off-road (mud racers being the exception here)

It's good to see some more suspension bits coming out for the truck. However, there is a distinct lack of aftermarket wheels at this point, thanks to the oddball 6x120 bolt pattern.
