THIS!!!!!!!! Will we EVER get an actual SMALLish (as in no bigger than 1st gen tacomas) 4door 4x4 P/U again? I'm really beginning to doubt it....is Ford (?!?!?!) are last hope...say it ain't so.

If they do, mostly likely be based on the Transit Connect platform.

Think El Camino, which wouldn't be a bad option IMO. Though pretty tight for two bikes...no real room left over for gear bags and fuel jugs. I wouldn't
want anything smaller than a 1st gen Tacoma. 2nd gen feels about the "right" size to me. Not too big, not too small...

Unfortunately this is being driven by buyers.

It is more than buyers.

The CAFE standards protect the full size truck class. The standards (counter-intuitively) strongly encourage vehicle makers to avoid producing small to medium sized trucks and instead produce full sized trucks. This is because fuel efficiency standards are based on vehicle footprint and below a certain footprint size (around a full sized truck) as you make the vehicle smaller you must significantly improve the fuel efficiency. So for a company trying to improve its fleet CAFE statistic they are much better off dropping their mid-size trucks and replacing them with full sized trucks. Hence the reason many mid-size have been killed in the US despite still being sold abroad.

The TRD Off-Road model in Tan paint looks great! Funny, how just paint changes the all around look of the truck. Interior looks great so far too. Anxious to see more
