Thanks MNCarl! No extension needed, the ladder extends to 8ft. The tent is actually about a 1/2" lower than it was before.

I love how clean that looks. I'll bet it feels a touch more sturdy too. Can't wait to see how you deck out the inside under the topper.

Thanks Tom! I'm looking forward to getting the bed sorted out as well. My wife knows a guy that might be able to build us a drawer system, which would be very nice. Then its fridge.

Putting the topper to work I see. Fronty is looking great as always. I really like the larger side windows on the snug toppers. Are the Windows vented with screens?

The side windows have small vented pop outs at the back, but are not screened.

We decided to celebrate the New Year with some winter camping. Just north west of Woodland Park, CO outside the town of Tarryall, is a trail network called China Wall. Really fun trail network, with some excellent camp spots. We didn't see a soul. It was just us and the coyotes.

Thanks Tom! Hey, I might have a friend coming along on our trip who is a camera man for ABC local news in Charleston, SC. He plans on filming our trip for us. Nothing big budget, but a really nice SLR and several GoPros. He is very good at filming and editing and is very excited to come along. If it works out, I think we will have a very nice film to document our adventure!! He wants us to get a departure date ironed out so he can get more organized.
On a second note, I diagnosed my popping noise!! It was the overlap of the radiator and engine skid popping when any kind of torque is added to the frame. Took them off and no noise!
