SOLD. 2012 KTM 990-R $7200

airjammer

Observer
Re-listing, as I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to sell or for what price.
Probably not asking enough.

I am the 2nd owner. I know nothing about the PO or they're riding habits.
It has a new motor. KTM paid for it. Receipt of build is available.

Why sell it?
Since late Spring of 2019 it hasn't been ridden as much. I discovered I had bone marrow cancer that April, after a 2 week XC / Overland ride to Escalante.
Since then, I have done several smaller rides during this time, however, recently, am realizing, I may not be able to square up to this beast like I used to. It's painful to have to come to terms, but recovery has been slow and I'm impatient. Not a good combination w/ this bike.

Currently, I'm having KTM of Aspen doing a sweep through it. They are dynamite guys, they know me and my riding history, and we share the same dementia. I trust them. If there is anything worth mentioning, I'll have them attend to it. Flushing coolant, adding a couple of farkles while it's there. Should be back in my hands week of the 8th.

To be clear:

It is not a shiny gem, a precious piece of pottery or pristine garage/highway queen -
It is kickA$$ - with some scuffs, scrapes and dust on the rims (it'll get hosed down - she still cleans up nice)
It is a Solid - Reliable - Durable Bike. Nothing to fear.
Everything functions as it should
It fires up like a spark to gas fumes every time
It will gladly take you anywhere you want
Battery has never needed a charge.

Since I have owned it, it's been ridden 80% off highway.
No, it hasn't been beat on and put away wet - I pay attention to every aspect of my equipment and maintain for longevities sake (and mine)
If you are handy, these are easy bikes to service; I've owned the carbureted 950S since 2007, and they are very durable and very reliable with basic attention and common sense.

Included features:
KTM Factory Euro Mapping
KTM 265 mm Factory Suspension Travel
KTM Handwarmers
KTM Lower Riding Lights
KTM Rear Rack / not panniers
KTM Crash Bars
KTM 12v port

If you have spent the time I have, you already know / These are durable, reliable, raw, fun and very utilitarian bikes.
They are easy to bond with, especially, if you are have a strong dirt bike / off-road background.

My buddy has taken his around the world. Original motor. He's well over 100,000 miles and still at it.

Anyhow, she should be back in my hands early next week.

I'd like to handle this relatively locally.

However, if you want it shipped or fly-n-ride, I will gladly discuss logistical options / shipping and airfare is on you.

Not in a rush to sell. I may feel more confident about keeping it in a month.

First $7200 takes it.
