Comments:
Van is running great, probably the best on record since we acquired it in 2015. It’s first life was as a local cargo/work van in the Las Vegas-area and we purchased it with 55,000 miles before beginning our build.
We insulated the walls/floors, placed sound matting in front of the van, and installed new flooring (both wood sheeting, followed by gray raised-coin flooring). As avid winter sports enthusiasts, we also installed a bunk heater that draws its fuel from the main fuel tank under the van. This heater uses about .02 gallons/hour at HIGH setting, however it’s not necessary to do so. We’ve never needed to set it much higher than a low level, since the unit is ample for such small square footage.
In 2016, while in-route to Loveland, CO to have the camper top installed, the 6.0 oil cooler and high-pressure oil pump gave out. We had this repaired in Rock Springs, WY at RS Auto Repair. At this time, the following large-ticket items were replaced: Oil Cooler, EGR Cooler Assembly (Bullet Proof®), EGR Valve, High Pressure Oil Pump, Radiator, Water Pump, Turbo boot (receipt available upon request).
Colorado Camper Van (CCV) installed the Ford E-series RB High Profile pop top with the Artic canvas kit – good for both winter ski trips and summer camping; the three-ply system of canvas, screen and vinyl window is amazing and all windows unzip to the open air if you prefer. There are a total of six unzippable windows in the top, making for great airflow. CCV also installed the MaxAir powered vent fan and a house battery frame on the driver side with two 100AH AGM batteries. The fiberglass top has Yakima roof rails for your rack of choice and a 200 Watt Renogy Eclipse solar panel system and a 20 amp MPPT controller.
We had custom cabinets made by a local craftsman in the Portland area. Both rear cabinets and the galley with sink are made from Russian Baltic Birch, sanded and stained to a warm mahogany wood color.
The van includes adjustable LED wall lights in the rear of the van and two additional lights placed above the front seats for reading. When the top is extended, the van is well-lit by LED lights built into the top and can be dimmed with a slider switch. We’ve also installed LED perimeter strips around the top, casts low-level blue light into the sleeping area.
Very minor front fender/grill damage.

Note on why we are selling:
This was our first foray into #VanLife and this van quickly supplemented our adventurous past times and became our favorite way to travel year-round. This van is equipped for summer or winter play and has proven to be a reliable companion for exploring. We’ve enjoyed every minute of this van and have enjoyed building it out for our needs. We’ll be looking to build out our second van soon—but in 4WD.
