Ordered some maintenance bits and came across an open box maxxair fan close to half the cost of new on Amazon. I’ve been waiting for one to pop up over the last couple of weeks. I did the same thing for the squaredrop camper and it showed up brand new. Hoping this one is the same deal.

The AC blows warm when accelerating so I need to replace the reservoir and check valve. I’ll be doing the relocation so I’m not taking the dash out. Temps just started hitting triple digits so I need to get this done before it gets even hotter here.

Well lucky me. Amazon canceled my order. That’s my last time dealing with them, just canceled prime.

Found another fan on Camping World, hopefully I have better luck.

Nice bed! What thickness is the foam? Is it enough and comfortable? How about the covers? Did you find them somewhere or have to custom make them? I need to get some better foam and covers for the bed in my rig.

The foam worked great and was plenty comfy by itself. I need to revamp the platform underneath because I could feel the slats. Not really the foams fault, they have gaps of about 3-4”. Should be a simple update. The covers were sewed by my wife. We used a thick canvas from Joann.

Foam is 3” thick. We may add a mattress topper for long trips but I think for the weekend runs we use it for now will be plenty.

First real run with it 90% complete was a great success. Setup and take down went much smoother than last trips. Nothing broke either haha.

I will be adjusting the bed slats in some manner. Either adding a backer board to the mattress’s or to the top of the slats. Open to suggestions.

Canvas stretched over the top?

3/16 or 1/4” Baltic birch plywood? Baltic is so much stronger, and last time I bought it, affordable. Post COVID... who knows. Might need a second mortgage.

You mean canvas over the top of the slats?

Ply may be my choice material. I still have a couple builder grade sheets from the pre Covid era lol. 1/4” might be more weight than I want to add. I need to get it sorted though.

Unless you mean remove the slats and replace with the ply hmmm.

I rewired the interior lights today. Each were individual light ran independently but jumped to one switch for each side, both sets with hi/low settings originally.

I removed that wasteful mess and ran them together to a single power/ground and put in a switch. I also ran the wiring for the roof fan that was supposed to be here today but got delayed with FedEx. Maybe tomorrow if it shows I can put it in.

As for the lights, I honestly went with the cheapest set of 48-SMD LED’s I could find. I was afraid they would be too bright or cast light oddly so I didn’t want to spend money for good ones which is an instant regret.

Light output on these are just right. Not too bright and the fluted covers help disperse the light pretty well inside. The bad, one stopped working within a few minutes. I need to pull the cover and make sure it’s connected securely (99% sure it is) just to be sure.

I was thinking of canvas or thin plywood over the slats.

Fan showed up and I wasted no time to get it installed. This being the second time I’ve installed a fan I was a lot more confident and not freaked out by cutting a hole in the roof.

Started with more trimming and light storage. This little setup is the access panel to wiring and the upper ac unit. I’ve ordered a few cupholders to drop in as well. I want to add a bin about 6-10” long a few inches deep. If anyone has suggestions let me know!

I also put together a solar box which is all inclusive minus the panel itself.

Lastly I’ve been contemplating some sort of a graphic for the side. Open to any suggestions!

Fresh clean from today.
