Use it while the weather good. Always time to make stuff better later.

For sure. We have the next 7 months of awesome weather. Weekdays will be build time. Weekends will be trips.

Pulled lights front and rear and put ACP over them with butyl tape then screwed on. Next will be caulking.

I also noticed the high top has a roll bar front and rear. Probably middle too.

And this is just funny.

I want to know how you make a zig zag in the weld like that. Going off the line is easy.

Junkyard run today. Picked up a 12k hitch off a 98 for my 06 and found some flares. Didn’t get the flares. Yet. Maybe? I’m indecisive about them.

Okay so I’ve done a lot but at the same time not very much. I fully gutted the interior. Like everything. Including all of the wiring in the back. Which up front appeared to be completely standalone and ran off an isolator switch.

Now after all has been pulled out I have no AC. I expected the rest not to work and figured I’d work with that as I go. Problem is, front doesn’t work anymore either. The clutch isn’t kicking on or anything.

Who here has done an ambo build, ripped it all out and maintained their ac? I need help!!!

The answer is likely specific to your ambo conversion. In mine I disabled the rear HVAC with no impact on the front AC or heat controls. I'd follow the standard AC diagnosis for your year of Econoline and go from there. You probably just need small change in the wiring to return it to stock (non ambo) function.

Not sure if this will help as it is not the wiring diagram for your specific ambulance but it might give you some ideas where to start. This diagram is for my 1995 F450 e-one ambulance. 20971072-94C8-467A-AFDF-F11172D9789A.png

I think you’re 100% right. It’s probably something as simple as removing a secondary pressure switch ran in series. I just need to figure out where in the harness the splice occurred. Going to try and get a buddy over so I can start with some basic continuity checks. Might be able to lock it down to a wire and area to search.

I figured out the AC!

I initially started at the rear ac and tried to find the issue as I worked my way back to the stock bits. I spent 3 days trying to trace it and made zero progress other than the entire dash was ripped out.

After talking with a good friend he suggested starting at the pressure switches to make sure power is even getting there. Within 3 minutes I was able to find the issue. Wheeled Coach spliced into the low pressure switch. I simply removed the splice and put bullet connectors on the factory wires and reconnected them. 15 minutes later and I had ice cold AC.

Now that my AC debacle is out of the way let’s get back on track with pics of progress!

I’ve fully gutted it.
Ripped all the Wheeled Coach wiring out
Sound deadened the cargo area
Pressure washed the carpet
Dropped it off at Bulletproof for service
Installed a 3 person bench seat from a Transit
Built a rear step
Test fit 33’s
Painted the grill and lower bumper trim panels black
Installed a roof cargo basket and put on some flood lights
Glued and screwed plywood subfloor inside
Made a bed for the bench seat
Removed decal residue

I’ve narrowed down a couple of wheel options but am open to suggestions. Looking at 17” only.

Picked up some windows out of the local yard. Not bad for $53. Both door windows are pop outs. Gotta cut the hole for the large one.
