Just recently found this sub-forum. Thought I'd share my truck and camper find and progress.

That is a nice looking setup. It appears from your posts that you bought that as a package. Where in the heck did you find a setup like that, already put together? Looks like it came from a dealer of some sort, which around here at least would be really unusual.

Thank you

I definitely scored finding this intact setup. I found it on a dealer lot North of Seattle, that I buy some of my company fleet trucks from. The dealer got it from an auction.

The truck was built down in Mendocino County California by the Search & Rescue director/team. He also used it for Baja race support. No expense appears to have been spared while building this thing. I am still finding hidden gems after a year of usage.

It is exactly what I was looking for, after parting ways with a heavily built JK I worked on for 8 years. Now, I am trying to take full advantage of the camper with the little vacation time I have available, but it will happen.

New starter battery, replaces almost 11 year old previous Odyssey. Great batteries. Free battery hold-down bar. Eh, it will do, for free.<br />

Cool little solar panel, does it have a built in regulator? How many watts? I assume it just charges through your cig lighter

I am not any form of expert on these, but it is their 21w version. Internal regulator. Plug N play into the always live 12v power/cig lighter plug.

First day install, showed the 14.3v on a very less than sunny PNW Fall day.

Nice set up! Did you buy it from Bob? Bob is a great guy and that's a great family to do business with.
Thank you. Yes, bought it from Bob and family. I work with his nephew. Great dealership and family to work with. I've purchased 4 vehicles, personal and work fleet, from them so far; in just over 1 year.

Matching/twin ARB 2500x2500 awnings arrived. Installing 1 on each side of the camper, as soon as the weather gives me a clear window.

Just curious, what does the green flag represent? It's the first time I see that (I'm from Canada so it's kind of unlikely for me to see it). Or just send me to a link explaining it.

Great set-up BTW!

I chose the green w/blue line in support LEO/Park Rangers who work our State and National Parks, often times very remote and alone.

And, thank you for the compliment. It has been a really good setup so far.

Ordered some new meats for the truck today - TreadWright AT A/P 225/70r19.5s with Kedge Grip added and Micro Siping. Time for the Continentals and Generals to go. These should give some serious traction addition.

Plus found a 10% off code. Comes in handy, especially when buying 8 tires total (6 running, 1 spare and a stand-by).

Mr.Bubblegoose, thanks for the explanation!

I'm looking into a similar set-up. I'm still in the planning stages and completely new to campers (the bed mounted type that is). I was wondering how the camper is anchored to the service body. Would you mind explaining or sharing pictures?

From what I gathered, most campers are made to be anchored with tie-downs from underneath the "wheel wells".... but it's so ugly! :squint:
