2004 Land Rover Discovery II with less than 65,000 miles
Location: Highland Park, IL 60035 (North Shore area of Chicago)
Description: Beautiful near original condition. I have not seen a 2004 in better condition. The seat leather is in excellent condition. All mechanical works and has been over serviced. In 2018 the following was done: New brakes/pads, springs/shocks with a 1.5” approx. lift, tires as pictured, O2 sensors, both catalytic convertors, new windshield with electric defrost wires, Atlantic front and rear bumpers, new seat covers. Wheels were upgraded from new from an HSE. No towing. All fluids are up to date.
New radio with integrated steering wheel controls.
The car drives perfectly. No needs or concerns.
I have had three previous Discoverys starting in ’95 and had a house at 8000 feet in CO. I have not found a better more comfortable machine for the mountains. I bought this to add to the fleet but have decided we don’t need it and frankly I’m having a hard time thinking about using it off-road. It’s really that nice.
I’ll deliver it anywhere (no charge) once paid, as long as the buyer will drop me at a major airport.
Price is $19,600.
PM for phone number or other contact information.

We are moving to Indiana from Seattle on the 11th and will be coming through the Chicagoland area on the 13-14th. Had to sell my LR3 and would be interested in getting into another LR. Any head gasket issues addressed or seen? Very nice truck!

No head gasket issues at all. No oil use. I'm very aware of the issue and have owned a '65, 1995, 1999 and this 2004. I got well into the mid 150K miles with all of them with no issues. I believe it was due to not blocking the airflow with excessive lighting, flushing and maintaining the coolant and a bit of Land Rover luck. I also don't drive much over 60-65. The underside is so nice I have contacted https://www.robisonservice.com and may have them do a full undercoating (waxoil). I've used them before and they are the best. They have also written extensively about the engines and head gasket and you can find more info on their site. I'll be returning from Colorado very early on the 14th if you are available.

This vehicle should be on BAT. I'm sure it would sell for more than the 17.5K asking price. A 2004 with 47K and as clean sold for 26K in October. GLWS!

I offered it to BAT and they rejected the listing. They did sell my 2003 BMW GS Paris Dakar recently, but I think too many of these have come to market for their interest. Although in my humble opinion, this is one of the best out there. The previous owner (Sonoma CA) had it for about six months and was trying to make it like-new, he said for his wife. I think it was for him, as she rejected it after he spent $10,500. on maintenance items. He replaced the brakes (rotors and pads), O2 sensors, catalytic convertors, suspension (springs and shocks), radio with integrated wheel controls, 5 tires, windshield with micro heating wires, plugs, wires, added seat covers and more. I obtained all the receipts. I added the bumpers and painted the roof to match my 65 Series IIa. We have had a 95, 97, 99 and now this and decided we could not leave this in CO and effectively ruin it off-road. It's too nice. I also have a new set of steel wheels and new winter only tires that go with it. The underside is almost rust free as it lived in NM and was garaged before moving to CA. The interior of the hitch tube was rust free as well. So we will sell it or use it and let the market decide for now. Feel free to call with questions: 7082058348.
