2002 Pathfinder LE mods for overlanding?

This is a 2000 Pathfinder. The 3.3L VG33 engine. Therefore it does have a timing belt as does my 2000 Xterra. The engine I am familiar with, but not the entire Pathfinder vehicle. Is the auto transmission the same as the Xterra?

But the title of this thread is regarding a 2002, not a 2000. That is what the original poster was asking about. Now if you want to start your own thread about a 2000 then a timing belt would be an appropriate answer, along with the water pump that requires the timing belt to be removed in order to change it.

The transmission is basicly the same. There might be an extra turbine speed sensor or a few other tweaks inside. Same model and gearing.
