2001 Ford Ranger Build Thread

Picked up a 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 off road package with the 4.0L and the ford 8.8 rear end with 4.10 gearing and a LSD a few months back. Figured I'd put together a build thread of all my current mods/maintenance for it along with future ones.

The following pictures are from the day I got it.

It wasn't long until I started to do some suspension work...

I decided to replace the worn old leaf springs with new ones along with replace the shackle and shackle frame mount as the bushing were all seized and all the powder coating had worn off so rust was starting to build up.

Not too long after I decided to invest in a roof rack system. Sadly I have no photos of the install but I do have this one handy.

Next I decided I wanted a little more height to my ranger, I bought and installed an add a leaf from the local 4x4 shop along with cranked the front torsion bars a little bit.

Overall gained 2 5/8" in the rear and 1 1/4" in the front.

Sadly have no photos of the add a leaf install...

^ Jacked up for the T-bar crank.

^ Before the AAL + Torsion crank.

^ How she sat after the AAL + T-bar crank.

I bet the suspension changed the ride feel a bit!

The rear not so much but the front is a fair bit stiffer.

Yes it has the 4.0L in it! Should edit my original post to include that haha

And thanks for the compliments, its my second car and i finally know what im doing when it comes to taking care of it haha

EDIT: it also has the 8.8 rear end with 4.10 gears and a factory LSD.
