Tool box install and 31x10.50x15 tires on custom painted original Taco Rims.1573918057851_0_20190612_110626.jpg

The black tool box has drawers and is designed for installation behind wheel wheel in full size trucks but is too big for the ?

It comes in diamond plate too.

Rear view with custom slide in/out tonneau cover. The under 24x24 aluminum box filled the gap between the black drawered tool boxes at the cab slider window.

Poor man's bed slide

IMG_20191116_112109.jpg

3/4 ply decking paint contains sand for no slip surface handles for pull out and tie down hooks for in bed tent

IMG_20191116_130131.jpg

Super cheap Walmart one person back packing tent. 9 foot long. Tent can be a grab and go for an over night hike too stored in the tool box.

Bed slide is basically self supporting when properly loaded. I place heavy items on the cab side first. Like firewood and camp stove using 2 side by side collapsible crates then next heavier stuff in the 2 side by side yellow lidded plastic totes which site above the axel between the wheel wells. There is enough room for one more black tote horizontally at the tailgate plus a small space for any misc items.

When unloaded depending on the level of the ground two or three of the black totes will support the slide to 600#.

With side boards attached serves as a great one person open air sleeping platform if a tent is not needed.

Custom mid deck hard tonneau cover.

IMG_20191116_105746.jpg

Lower severe heavy duty super strut supporting structure. Definitely over kill but I don't weld. Version 3.0 will be all aluminum and welded.

3/4 ply with the sanded deck paint. Originally one piece design but warping of wood made it bind too tightly. Solution, I cut into 4 sections which without any weatherstripping are pretty dry on there own but a good rain will of course get in.

20190419_124722_1.jpg

Scrap 2x4 intially used for support and when flipped over, for cargo containment. In practice not needed to support nor contain cargo and the extra space was gained by their removal. Cut sections when removed serve as camp tables when placed on black totes and platforms to keep out of sand or mud at camp site around the truck and tent. Can also be used as MAXX Trax and jacking platform in soft, muddy or sandy ground.

A foam diamond plate exercise mat cover keeps things mostly dry in wetter weather but it's not completely leak proof. It's also useful as another ground mat. Mat also needs some weight on it or otherwise secured or wind will take it and it's a slicker surface so cargo will slide. I also have a cut up section of a bed liner to use as a cover, super tough but also slippery. Mostly I use with out any cover as the sanded deck paint grips items with out any tie downs to prevent sliding. I use bungees as extra insurance usually.

Decks boards will self support at least 250 lbs and more with the tubs underneath. Per Home Depot the totes are rated at 600 lbs evenly distributed so with three totes I guess you could place about 1,000#.

IMG_20191116_110706.jpgIMG_20191116_111216.jpg

Designed to take the midsize yellow lid black tubs which with the bed slide fits super snug.

Per Home Depot "This HDX reinforced stackable 17 gallon heavy-duty tough tote will handle any storage job ranging from general storage needs to extreme storage jobs. The tote includes a black base made from durable recycled polypropylene and a yellow reinforced snap-fit lid to secure and protect your valuables. This tote is a perfect option for the meticulous organizer who demands the very best in heavy-duty storage and protection. Integrated slots make the tote lockable to keep away unwanted intruders. This tote includes innovative tie-down channels that allow it to be easily strapped down for simple transportation and fits most Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers.
  • Industrial strength construction holds up to the rigors of extreme and tough storage
  • Snap fit tough top for positive snug fit
  • Lockable top for added security
  • Storage containers nest when empty to save space
  • Can handle at least 600 lbs. of distributed weight stacked on lid
  • Handles can withstand at least 450 lbs. of pressure
  • Passes a drop test of at least 75 lbs. from 6 ft.
  • Exterior dimensions (at top of tote) 26.88 in. L x 18 in. W x 12.5 in. H
  • Interior dimensions (at bottom of tote) 22.25 in. L x 13.5 in. W x 11 in. H"
I can attest the lid can't support 200# before cracking LOL.
