I'm very curious as well.
I need to change out the current one, but typically the arm that holds the cable stop gets bent from use.
We live and travel on alot of dirt roads. I do try and keep the latch lubed (I've tried grease, silicon, dry) and clean.
When it fails I replace the whole mechanism, and clean inside the whole door. amazing how much gets in there. My door and window rubber is in good shape.
