1996 Montero headlight damage

My 1996 Montero has a chipped head light and now has water intrusion. Turns out they don't show up in the pick and pull any more. I guess people figured out they are great cars and all the beaters got crushed already.

If anyone knows of a parts car that has a good right headlight lens, I'd appreciate the tip.

You can dry it out using a vacuum on the hole and a heat gun on the rest of the housing. Then to seal it, you can use the UV-curing plastic/resin stuff that's sold for windshield chip repair (and that dentists use).

Duh, thanks. I just checked eBay and see a number that are reasonable with free shipping.

Repair suggestion is a good idea as well.

Thanks for helping with my dumb question

I did what Lev suggested and the repair has held up for over 5 years. Wish I could remember what I used….it was clear….possibly chimney flashing sealant.

I ended up getting one on eBay. The housing picked up a fair bit of water over the last couple months and I finally changed out the lens today.
It is a pretty easy job once you figure out where the screws are and how to get to them.
