1992 FJ80 Engine swap Vortec 6.0L

Hello!

I am on the middle of completing a Vortec 6.0l swap!

After a long time sourcing and looking for the best deal, I am set on swapping the complete power train to a GM. I will be keeping my stock shifter and transfer case... that is it!

I will be very please with your feedback and input during the process.

I will not be doing the work myself since I do not have the necessary equipment to make it happen, and my mechanic skills are rather low to succeed on this venture.

My good friend Mike from Steel-Nutz in Murrieta, California will be doing all the work.

I already have a 6.0 Vortec with 70k miles and a matching 4L60E transmission. We are using a Marks adapter to the stock transfer case, motor mounts, and the computer and wiring from Marks4wd ....

I purchased my Toyota earlier last year. It was built by TJM here in California for 2012 SEMA show:

The goal is to complete it before the end of February...

I will post a complete list of what we are using and start posting pictures and video...

Stock engine is gone, I still have the transmission for sale.

Transmission and transfer case are already in and we're in the process of building motor mounts to get the 6.0 in...

Welcome to the ExPo! That is one well building or building 80 you have. Can't wait to hear how the 6.0 works out.

Thank you all for your positive and inspiring feedback... :victory:

This whole project started 9 months ago and is finally on it's way to success.
The guys of Steel-Nutz Off Road are great and have a ton cool of ideas for the TLC. They mostly build race machines and beastly rock-crawlers, but are very excited about this project... they are just getting done fabricating some custom motor mounts and modifying the rear drive shaft to push the engine-transmission forward about 3"... for some reason the tranny was sitting to far back...

That is going to be a very nice 80 when you are done with it. You are really going to like the power and fuel efficiency of the 6.0.

Availability was the reason... I got a good deal on the engine/tranny combo with 70k miles and it was within my budget.
