Specs:

Engine: 200TDI (2.5L Direct Injection Turbo Diesel Intercooled) 113 hp 200 FT/LBS
Transmission LT77 5 speed Manual
Transfercase LT230 High Range Ratio: 1.222 Low Range Ratio: 3.27:1
Axle Gear Ratio: 3.56:1

This is a right hand drive truck that my business partner and I imported from the UK.

Its in excellent mechanical shape and doesn't have any rust issues. The interior, exterior and paint need some work. This is a 5 door, already has a lift and 33" tall tires. New front and rear driveshaft, snorkel, winch bumper and some other odds and ends.

So the plans are to put in some discovery seats, a rear locker, complete interior redo, LED headlights, 9500 Winch, fix some body damage and maybe a roof rack.

Also: loads of sound deadening. There isn't any interior, and after driving this thing from LA to my house in Layton, I think I only have 50% of my hearing left that I had left originally.

Oh, yeah, all the stupid dog decals are coming off.

The previous owner was a security guard at a nuclear power plant in the UK and used this defender for work. He had a dog he kept in the truck with him in a homemade kennel in the back.

Nice looking truck. I had a couple of 200 Tdi 110 SW a decade or so ago and really enjoyed the engine / gearbox combo.
Watching your progress with interest.

Removed the garbage British headlights. They have the wrong beam pattern for left hand drive roads. They blind everyone on the other side of the road and you and you can’t see anything from the drivers seat.

Some LED upgrades.

DOT Approved as well

Time to rip the Boy Racer seats out of this thing. Going into the garbage.

Had a set of discovery 2 seats sitting around. A little bit of cutting to the mounts and one test fit later. Test fit.

Up next I’ll build some mounts to bolt these in for good. Then find some switches and hook them up to power. With some new heated seats.

Old and horrible.

Heated seats... that’d be something.

Of course we already have that- mid summer.

Seats bolted in. Made some brackets and welded the on to the seat rails.

Just took the radiator in to have it re-cored, It was leaking and the road salt in England had pretty much destroyed it. Also having the intercooler cleaned at the same shop.

adding a bit of bedliner to the floors for some sound deadening. Used about a gallon on the front floors and rear cargo area.

I think I would have painted the floor panels apart, let dry and then reassemble.

But I’m sure it helps!

I have 1/2” ribbed rubber mat under the factory rubber floor mats. Not too loud.

Probably going to order a complete silicon hose kit for it as well

I did it like that on purpose, it keeps the dust from being able to come through. The floors are solid, actually the whole truck is solid and rust free. Its had a new bulkhead installed, new doors, new floors, and a rear cross member.
