1966 Nissan (Datsun) Patrol - $3500 (N. Courtenay)

Date: 2011-10-09, 8:42AM PDT

I have a 1966 Patrol that I bought about five years ago in 95% complete condition but have not had time to finish it.

This is a very rare short-wheelbase 4x4 that resembles a cross between an old Landrover and a '70's Landcruiser.

It comes with a shed full of parts. No rust, no dents, no broken glass.

Have added pictures for the 5 responses to my advert yesterday.

It looks clean, hard to tell though from those pictures.

If clean it is well worth his asking price.

FYI, 2616 Patrols were sold in the USA from 1962-1969, 950 of those were soft top trucks. Numbers sold in Canada have never been determined. Very few survive up there in decent shape due to the rot issue.

I have a 64 soft top (one of 950 sold in the USA) I am selling that comes from New Mexico. Thing is I am getting it titled right now so off the market. Plus I have several buyers lined up already once title in hand.

There was one that showed up in Alaska a few years back on Craigslist. It was an extremely rare model, ie the WG60 or wagon. It was a 1967. It was for sale for $2k iirc and in decent shape. I also believe by vin plate and being LHD it was sold in Alaska originally. Again it was one of very few WG60 ever made! I am sure it is still up there and hopefully found it's way to the right home.

Check my signature for more info on (old) Patrols then you can find anywhere else on the interent. ;)

not sure on the Fairbanks Patrol but i will get pics of the one here in anchorage area. The same guy also has a penzgauer that he might be selling.

He likes the starnge and unusual.

Cheers Ed

Hmmm, one in the Anchorage area. I did some research on the one from FBX it sounds as if that one was resurrected from a swamp earlier this spring, unless there is another patrol owner up in FBX posting on RMP&O's forum.

There is a bunch of Patrols up in Alaska but they don't make it to the internet very often. I just sold my 64 and got a decent price for it.

Here is the uber rare WG60 that was for sale up in Alaska a few years back....

The seller had 2 other Patrols iirc and was trying to sell them all as a package deal. I tried to convince some members of my forum to buy it, it is a very special Patrol. Yet, nobody jumped on it that I know of, cost about $2500 to get it down here to the ower 48. I myself had to try hard to restrain myself from buying it. I have always wanted a WG60 and until I saw this one could not have imagined there would be one in N.America, let alone in LHD. It is in reasonably good condition and restorable. Check the vin plate on this truck in my linked pictures. I am pretty sure it was originally sold in Alaska by the vin plate. If it was imported from Latin America the vin plate would be in Spanish. If imported from Japan, Aus., NZ or many other countries it would be RHD. I highly doubt it came out of Europe as old Patrols are extremely rare in Europe. I also can not imagine it came from the Middle East, it is not easy to get a truck out of Saudi Arabia. All that reinforces my thoughts that this WG60 was sold in the USA back in 1967 and also sold up in Alaska.

Oh and I found some old posts....

The WG60 was in Kenai. If anybody up in Alaska is intereste din it I know somebody with a phone # for the people who have the WG60 as well as a few other Patrols in the Kenai area.
