Here we go again 2012 frontier pro 4x MT

Wellllllll it’s still here , decided to keep it. But between work and moving life has been crazy so no adventures lately but I did step up on tires and go to 35s . Just a little work to the pinch weld and reshaping the fender liners was needed . Went with the geolander g015 these things are...

    Skinny 35s: Looking for options

Have ran the kenda klever on 2 different rigs in the 35x10.50 . You have to air down more than normal due to their thick sidewalls ( 8-10psi in the snow for me ) surprisingly quiet on the road , never had a lack of traction in the sand ,snow , Ice , rocks ect . Ran kenda tires on my motorcycles...

    Meet Yeti - 2013 Nissan Xterra Pro-4X

Fantastic rigs I would have kept mine but had two kids in orchestra one playing the cello and it made trips with the instruments nearly impossible. With some trimming , reshaping of the fender liners and proper wheel choice I managed to squeeze 35s on mine with only 1.5” of lift . I have a...

Well as the only normal constant in life is that it’s inconsistent . Once again big life changes are happening. The other half is moving back to the east coast to be closer to her family and start a new life there so the camper has been sold my silverado is up for sale and unfortunately the...

Fist test run with it on . Hardly know it’s on there . Will probably be adding another 100 lbs with the door and finishing up the interior .

Budget Titan swap is all done , still need to make new top hats to gain 2” more uptravel . It’s a little oversprung and bouncy on some bumps but a huge improvement over the spacer on stock suspension. Hoping the extra spring rate will help when the camper is on .

Whew some updates , camper is moving along at a snails pace but things are getting done , I cut 14” off the roof and made it a 2 person camper . Close to getting the shell all buttoned up then the long process of bondo and sanding . I am trying something a little different and putting splines...

Is the roof tent trend over?

Don’t know if I’d call something that’s been around for 100+ years just a fad .

But at some point you just have to start and figure it out as you go . Picked up 10 sheets of plywood and just started working on the basic shape . I’m seeing if I can make a skeleton frame out of 2” and 3” plywood strips pocket holes and building them into glulams with a stupid amount of glue ...

    winch - yeah or nah?

Personally I think a winch and learning how to use it is the first upgrade anyone who travels off-road should do . It should be b4 lights , traction boards , tires , lift ect ect . Upgrades just lead to more stuck . Learn how to drive and wheel your rig stock and it will only increase your...

2015 Tacoma. San Diego CA. $50,000

Don’t stock Volkswagen bugs race the Baja 1000? I don’t know if you know this but being a jerk to people is often not a good way to sell a vehicle. You’re asking an asinine amount of money for a vehicle with 160 K on the odometer people are going to have questions, so the better tactic might be...

2015 Tacoma. San Diego CA. $50,000

Wow your a bit of a ass lol sorry but I’m sure you would be stuck in the first 4’ snow drift you came across and the tent would get old in the snow rain sleet and mud . Comparing your rig to a earthromer issilly Sense they are two completely different things built for different reasons . One is...

2015 Tacoma. San Diego CA. $50,000

I always try to just pass by these for sale adds and To each of their own and everybody can ask what they want for their vehicle but… 50 K for a rig with 160K on the odometer? And just some bolt ons ?? I mean you might find a buyer, but something tells me you’re gonna be hanging on that thing...

Am I insane? (FWC Hawk to pop-up shell)

Something to maybe consider , how much will the cost difference be between your current truck and what you want to replace it with ? Let’s just say it’s like 15k more to achieve 6-8 more mpgs . 15k buys a lot of fuel on a platform that’s a lot easier to repair and just about every parts store on...

its definitely just a temporary solution for now , toying with the idea of swapping in a set of 63” Chevy springs I just know when doing it on a Toyota it gives it 4-5” of lift so may require going spring under to make it work. May actually work and ride better in the long run that way .
