    Anyone Daily Drive Their Truck?

I daily drive my gmc 3500 srw crew cab 4x4 lwb with a 6.0 gasser. I average about 13.5 50/50 city/high unloaded and the ride is great. Parking is tough sometimes but managable. Camper goes on only before trips like billy2 said earlier. I also use it to tow my 10k lb boat. Thought about...

Off-grid, full time truck camper (re) build journal - Driven to Adventure

Just found your build and love it. I have a TC10 non slide that i am just in the process of adding solar too. I would love to get more details on your install especially the routing of your wiring. My camper only has a single battery by the back door and no battery monitor so i really have a...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

Well, it turns out the coolant was just a small leak from the rear heater hose so it was repaired with no issues and the rattle was a piece of the old belt hitting something. The van is running great and even put some new hub caps on her. The bad news is that i have decided to sell her and go...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

So i put the van to work this weekend pulling my new expedition vehicle home. It was pushing the upper limits of the towing capacity of the van but it handled it great. Bad news is that a 3 hour trip took 7. The tires looked in good shape but ended up having three tires fail on I-10. You can...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

I do not really know any spots as of yet. St George is about the only close to beach camping i know of currently. I havent been in Tallahassee long and works been keeping me busy. You are right about the cable ends. They are broken at the ends. I hope to dig back into the van this weekend...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

Thanks. I really would like to convert it to 4x4 with the u joint kit. On the look out for and axle and transfer case to rebuild. Still have a few other things to take care of before that can happen. Next step is to replace the door cables. The interior handles on the rear cargo and passenger...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

I also ended up purchasing a yakima rack to be able to transport kayaks around. The install was pretty easy but the rack does create and audible wind note while moving which can be annoying. Luckily with the new speakers installed i can just turn up the radio :)

So it begins....new life to a old van.

The mirrors on the van were in relatively good shape for their age cosmetically, however, one of the mirrors would only move in one direction and the other only in 3 directions. Based on my experience with old electrics, and the fact that I had to re attach one of the pieces of glass to the...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

Step 1: Ditch the old console. So this console has been bothering me the entire time I was driving it prior to buying it officially. I can not tell you how many times I took a turn or hit the gas and my cup would come flying at me. You can probably see the stains on the carpet from this...

So it begins....new life to a old van.

So I took the plunge and bought a van. At first I wasn't looking for a van at all but a truck. This seemed to prove difficult for the price point I was looking in. It seems that everyone thinks that their truck with 200K on the clock is worth its weight in gold. After months of searching I...

Are they for the rear windows or just the sides? I could use a small side glass and the rear doors. In Tallahassee so it isnt to far of a drive.

    Ford V10 reccomendations and advice

Just finished using the van to tow an 18 foot trailer with an 800 pound safe and tractor. It did very well considering although i did find myself wanting a bit more power being spoiled coming from a diesel. I think the tuner would be a valuable investment. Even with the load the mileage only...

    Ford V10 reccomendations and advice

I figured the 2 mpg loss but a mpg per inch seems a bit much. If I went 6 inches of lift that would put the van around 4 mpg and it would not be worth driving at that fuel economy.
