    Limited slip

He will still have good steering. Limited slips have a clutch pack inside that allow differing wheel speed when on hard serfaces.

    RTTs on Fiberglass toppers.

Agreed. I love the size of a standard soft RTT but I am wanting a hard shell. While I am going to lose space in a hard shell, there are several benefits. Smaller profile, simple and quick setup, rigidity in windy/inclement weather, easier to heat or cool....ect. The trade-off is obviously $$$$...

    RTTs on Fiberglass toppers.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I am going to go this week and talk to a local dealer of ARE and LEER. Judging from your experiences I believe either of these brand toppers will suit my needs. Thank you for all the help.

    RTTs on Fiberglass toppers.

This is EXACTLY why I posted this question. 1500-3k buys a few other toys or LOTS of fuel! Really just trying to nail down what I "need" versus what I want. If this was a full time overland rig, I'd totally spend for a GFC or AluCab.....but it's not. It's my daily and sometimes needs to do truck...

    RTTs on Fiberglass toppers.

Awesome. This is the direction I am going....with a hard shell RTT. Really glad to hear your experiance. If I may ask....which LEER topper did you use? They have quiet a few to pick from.

    RTTs on Fiberglass toppers.

Yeah, I knew this was probably a topic that has been hashed out before......but I didn't find any "recent" threads about it. Most were over 5 years old. There are always those "never do this" crowd. lol But I was honestly hoping for folks like you with actual experience to chime in. Really...

    RTTs on Fiberglass toppers.

Hey there, I'm waffling around trying to decide what truck topper to get for my 2019 Ranger. I seem to be hung up on whether I should buy an expensive metal topper (4-6k, RSI smartcap...AluCab..ect) or can I use a less expensive fiberglass one (2-3k, ARE...LEER...ect)? It seems there is...

Go Fast Campers @ Expo East??

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone was bringing their Go Fast Camper to Expo East. I'd really like to see one in person without having to travel to Montana. I live in Florida. lol. I also value the personal experiences of the owners and their opinions. I'm seriously thinking...

Experiences with different brands of rear tire carrier.

Thank you all for your responses. I am looking at the JCR products. A friend has had them also and raves about their stuff. Glad to hear you all like them as well. Also, I will certainly be looking into beefing up the mounting locations. Thank you for the heads up on that. Once of medicine vs...

Experiences with different brands of rear tire carrier.

I'm looking to get a rear bumper with tire carrier for my 2000 Cherokee. The carrier will be holding a 33x10.5 tire. I'm looking for something well built and DOESN'T RATTLE. I'd like to hear your experiences and suggestions. Thanks Cory

    Bilbo, an XJ build thread.....

Despite the setbacks of the tranny, I have been able to have some good quality time with my son. Teaching him vehicle maintenance and how to work on things. Prior to the transmission problems we also managed to travel to Uwharrie. Even though there was no offroad fun involved, it was...

    Bilbo, an XJ build thread.....

Wow..... It's been a long time since I've been here. Sorry about that. Living life has kinda gotten in the way of making progress with Bilbo. But not to worry, I have gotten some things accomplished. First off.... I know some of you will frown but I ended up purchasing a RC 4.5" long arm...

    Bilbo, an XJ build thread.....

OK, thanks for the info on the heads. I did hear about the HP d30 hitting the exhaust without a lift so that's why I'm trying to sort it out. I was thinking 4.56's also because there shouldn't be any need to ever go bigger. XJs on 31s are very capable.....33s, makes them awesome. At the time...

    Bilbo, an XJ build thread.....

Wow..... Thank you for the great reply. I was certainly on the fence about "needing" a long arm kit. My last XJ had 4"s of miscellaneous bits. And worked well. Although it wasn't the smoothest ride. When you say you can fit 33s with trimming, how much surgery are we talking? I don't mind...

    Bilbo, an XJ build thread.....

I am currently gathering the parts needed to make Bilbo 4wd. I purchased a high pinion d30 yesterday and a friend has an auto tranny from a 4wd. That only leaves a tcase and driveshafts still needed. I was going to drive Bilbo for a while before doing the conversion but after some inspection...

    New Jeep decision help....

Thank you everyone for your responses. You folks always provide a great wealth of knowledge and experience to draw from. After much reading and thinking about what my mission for the vehicle is going to be, I decided to focus on finding a WJ/ZJ or XJ. All of these vehicles have the things I am...
