    Eco-Roamer - F650 based Expedition Vehicle

Considering all the (much worse) possibilities of having that happen in other conditions, I'd say that someone is smiling upon you. Shame that it happened, but likely in about the best possible conditions. Glad that everyone is ok and that you're able to have it taken care of.

my brothers Land Rover Ford Excursion thing

I have to admit that I clicked on this thread just to see how bad of an abomination it was going to be. Then saw the pictures and thought "Now, that isn't half bad!" Then realized it was also a pop-top and was impressed. I agree that DSW4x4's pop-top would be a slick direction to go for...

    New project

Ah, kept looking to try to figure out how it worked. Finally noticed the picture with the actuators. Very sweet work!

    Camper Shell Interior

My grandfather built something like that for the back of his pickup years ago. Did it so he could pull it out and keep it in the barn when he needed the back of the truck for firewood, tractor parts, or such.

GMC teases with Sierra All-Terrain concept

Not overly impressed with the big Tonka grill or the IFS, but I appreciate the diesel, locking diffs, and crew cab. Seriously, how many Raptor owners are actually going to take them out desert racing? As Haven states, I see this as being a capable full-size off-road hauler. The Raptor is a...

    2wd to 4wd????

There are only a few ways that the swap becomes a legitimate choice: the vehicle was never offered in 4WD. you're doing a considerable change from the stock version - long travel suspension, axle swaps, etc. the vehicle you have has "extra" value to it. The last one can be anything from it...

    Feed back on Rhino liner

For professional, I'd go with Line-X over Rhino. This summer I had a chance to check out the Raptor product and was much more impressed with it than I have been with any other DIY product. I don't have any long term use results from it, so would be interested in experience from others. I...

Bremach T-Rex is now in the USA

Seems you have to contact them for pricing information - any ballpark on what they're talking?

    1999 Suburban Question

My K2500 has 285-75-R16s on it and there was a bit of interference with the front bumper and a plastic trim piece. Removal of the trim and a bit of cutting and no more rubbing. Not sure how much different things are from the 1500 to the 2500 as far as clearances go, though.

You forgot to mention its uses as a really big frisbee! :)

    Old and new trailers

Ok, that's too funny! I have one of those cabinets out in my shop I've been thinking about putting on craigslist. Never thought about building a trailer out of it! :)

    used bfg commercial traction ta

The wear looks pretty uniform, so I'm not thinking alignment issues.

    used bfg commercial traction ta

I've often replaced a pair of tires out of the four. Looks like a pair were recently replaced and then he decided to upgrade to a larger size or different tire?

    Frame material question

For what you are talking about, it will be fine. You'll actually increase the strength by increasing the height faster than by increasing the thickness. Go 2x4 if you have any concerns.

I Leaked All Over Colorado's Face!

I had to resort to that with my Lab a few times over the years. He was always eager to start out an adventure, but sometimes bit off more than he could chew in his later years. Hopefully I won't come across as some creepy old guy, but your wife is totally adorable. May your family always...

    Frame material question

I'd be tempted to up to a 2x3 with the long side vertical - at least for the frame rails. You could drop back to 2x2 for the cross bars.

    Netbook vs. iPad...

You're talking half again as much for the base MacBook Air as the base 3G iPad. But only $150 to compare a 3G 64Gb iPad to a 64Gb Air. Plus the Air has more flexibility (ability to run actual programs and an actual keyboard) and connectivity (USB and video output). Downsides in a vehicle...

    Bedliner inside the H1

Personally, of the commercial liners I like Line-X the best. For DIY, check out U-Pol's Raptor Liner. I saw TP Tool's display of it at the Fall Carlisle show and was suitably impressed with it.
