Looking for/to make Spod/switch pro alternative

If you want to see what's involved in a proper DIY alternative, this is the best DIY that you can possibly find. http://www.bodenzord.com/archives/473 Full credit to the author, because he clearly invested as much time in putting the instructions together as building the solution itself. Once...

    Namibia in a 4x4 rental

We rented from Bushlore last year for 30 days in South Africa, and I cannot say enough good things about the land cruiser and the customer service. They were so helpful when we suddenly changed our itinerary to include some border crossings, and the truck was very well setup. Upon return...

Africa for beginners. 2 weeks in eastern South Africa

What a great trip! Coincidentally... we did the same thing, at exactly the same time. We picked up the truck from JoBurg Bushlore on Feb 27th and had it for 3 weeks. We reversed the trip though, going through Lesotho, Kosi Bay/Mabibi Beach, then Swaziland and up to Kruger. It was amazing!

    Expo 4th Gen 4runner registry.

Pretty sure this is a white 4Runner registry... and I'm in! 1. 2005 V8 Limited 2. Name of owner/screen name/truck name... KRP/Currently UnNamed Truck 3. How long have you owned your 4th Gen? 2 years 4. What made you decide to buy a 4th Gen over what other options you might have been...

    Mapping on my tablet

I've been using HERE for off-line navigation, and have had a lot of luck with it. As long as you offline the maps you need in advance, it does a great job for the turn-by-turn navigation, and actually has been successful in navigating forest service roads on Vancouver Island. Once offlined, it...

My new to me 2009 4runner Trail Edition

Hmm.. I have the frontrunner, and the only complaint I have is that it cuts end around the middle of my sun roof. It could extend further and I'd have extra room when my tent was on. That one look great. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

How do you get your dog in and out of your RTT?

I have 2 dogs. 48 pounds and 58 pounds. My rtt sits on top of a lifted 4th Gen 4runner and is about 6ft8in off the ground. I carry both dogs up myself, and very awkwardly carry them down. The up is easy... The down is ridiculous, but I'm 6ft tall, so it's not too far down if the big one gets...

    Adam's 2005 4runner v8 overland build!

great looking truck! I've got a pretty similar set up with my 4runner, except I'm currently using a frontrunner rack. The rack itself is fantastic, but I find that it doesn't provide any extra space once my Tepui tent is mounted. I basically have about 8inches of space in front of the tent...

My new to me 2009 4runner Trail Edition

I may have missed it, but what size tires are you running? I really like the fit on your vehicle and will be replacing the tires on my 05 shortly. Sent from my LG-D803 using Tapatalk

Front Runner Full Roof Rack Installed on 5th gen 4runner

This is fantastic. I was just looking at my FrontRunner Rack the other night on my 4th Gen and was thinking I could just order up some extra parts and extend it further. Right now, I have a Tepui Autana on the rack, and there is only about 8 inches left up front for gear. I really like what...

    **Tepui RTTs and Accessories**

The Autana we just received had the bungees included. They weren't installed from the factory, but they were in one of the parts bags. I found they assisted somewhat with the tent when it's wet, but I still have to spend some time tucking in the excess. I've only done this a few times now, so...

    KRP's 2005 4Runner on Vancouver Island

Thanks Bryan... it's great to have you (and the other vendors) part of this community. We have another gorgeous day out on Vancouver Island, so I'll take a look this afternoon at bending the deflectors after I get the battery swapped and some lights changed. The Tepui Autana RTT has been...

    KRP's 2005 4Runner on Vancouver Island

The RV dealership seems to have a group of offroaders working there, so it looks like they started bringing in parts from vendors for their own rigs, and set up the site to allow other's to put in orders as well. They appeared to be mostly Jeep guys, so they bring in AEV, Smittybilt...

    KRP's 2005 4Runner on Vancouver Island

And the lift is now on the truck. The shop managed to level everything out nicely, which creates a dramatic difference in the appearance, and when driving it. Unfortunately, the tires won't be replaced until later in the year. They are still in good enough shape, and will get us through the...

    KRP's 2005 4Runner on Vancouver Island

Roof Rack Here are some more photos of the FrontRunner SlimLine II rack. Living in Victoria, BC, I was lucking enough to find an RV dealership that puts in orders with FrontRunner, so they were able to order me up all the required parts, and it took about 3 weeks for everything to arrive. As...

    KRP's 2005 4Runner on Vancouver Island

Thanks Bryan! The rack is mounted, but I completely missed the step indicating that I should slide bolts into the rack before adding the air deflector, so the front mount is not bolted down yet. I blame the cold/flu that I was dealing with on the weekend... yeah, that's the excuse I'll use...

    KRP's 2005 4Runner on Vancouver Island

Well, it's been a while since I've updated, but I think this should be a good update. My girlfriend said I'm acting like a kid at Christmas, but I'm clearly celebrating my upcoming March birthday. In my personal world, I finally received my CISSP designation, and so I've decided to throw money...
