    Compact Carbon Steel Cookware

Filled out the survey. We are fans of carbon steel pans, it's all we use at home and found a suitable pan to carry with us in our camp set. Interesting to see your handle design.

    For packing clothing...

I pack myself and our two boys clothes into a combo of Ikea bags. First stuff gets split up into the packing cubes. https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/rensare-clothes-bag-set-of-3-check-pattern-gray-black-30432502/ Those all get put into one of these Ikea bags that zip up...

On budget pants for mtb. The ATF by Wrangler Trail Jogger has come up as a great budget alternative to all the mtb branded trail pants that have come to market the last couple years.

    Mini earthroamers?

Compare the GVWR for a Ranger/Hilux/D-Max/Colorado/Canyon in international markets vs North America and you'll see that it's possible to build these small campers internationally and not in North America. The GVWR on the North American versions is much lower. Also outside North America you'll...

    12v water boiler / kettle?

Thanks for the info @Herbie. I was hopeful that there was something but appears not. Would be nice to not have to carry a second small stove like a Jetboil or MSR Recator and deal with the fuel canisters for very limited use.

    12v water boiler / kettle?

Is there any of these that don't suck? Looking to boil about 750ml of water for morning coffee on days when breaking out the stove is undesirable. We were out this past weekend and it was raining changing over to wet snow before heading off to go ski. Just needed a coffee and nothing else needed...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

I can't imagine trying to squeeze into that. Such a poor use of space between the gladiator and camper.

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

You could do a drop down bunk like in this van conversion. They use sailing rigging to pull it up tight to the ceiling when not in use, then it rests on the lower platform when in use. https://stitchesandsteel.com/products/drop-down-carbon-bunk?variant=42318077198575

Well aware of the trend and yatch on wheels part, just baffled by the Tacoma aspect.

Thoughts on the Truckhouse Tacoma expedition camper...

Another vote for "it's beautiful but I don't get it". I guess if you're not part of the Cult of Tacoma you might never get it?

Charging - Auxiliary Alternator vs. DC-DC/B2B. Which is Better?

Have a look at what these guys are doing to control alternator and handle bi-directional DC-DC. https://www.safiery.com/ Wakespeed seem to have the same unit called the WS3000R listed on their 2021 pricelist pdf. http://wakespeed.com/index.html The Safiery site has good info outlining a...

    DIY Composite Flatbed Camper Build

Another process used by a couple of small builders in France is Dibond-XPS-Dibond and make the panels themselves inhouse. http://cartech4x4.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/img_0353-scaled.jpg http://cartech4x4.com/ His facebook has lots of info buried in the image comments...

Minimalism for the win. Buy 10 of the same basic grey t-shirts in bulk and 3 pair of the same jeans. Consider it a uniform that's really never the wrong thing for anything. Never have to think about what to wear ever again. It's nice. /fashion talk

I wouldn't hold your breath on driving up through BC in Sept. We're still bickering here about trying to shut out people other provinces let alone our southern friends. Can you still take a ferry from Seattle to AK?

    Heater/Furnace Sizing

Thanks for the information. As the camper structure's have become better insulated and sealed it only makes sense that they require less heat and better circulation. Just wanting to confirm real world use vs theory. It would be good so see some more modern hvac techniques applied to lower...

    Heater/Furnace Sizing

I guess the question is, how much more than enough? Do you think you have 2x more heating capacity than needed? Is your fresh air exchange open roof vents/windows?
