    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

I have seen a few groups run it over the winter.

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

Yeah the trail was generally pretty wide with only one road being sort of brushy but passable. I've heard a Ford Raptor club frequents this trail so you should have no issues. Early fall or late spring is good you want to avoid the bugs if you can. If kayaking generally spring being the better...

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

I kept pushing north. Eventually I crested a large hill and could see the end in sight, Lake Superior. I rode through Cornucopia and out to the water. This is where it ended for me border to border in 4 days. However, I had to see the point of ending. So I drove the end of the track...

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

Day 4 Final day I awoke refreshed with one of the best sleeps of the trip. The hotel had some really good Apple Cider donuts for breakfast. A bad thunderstorm had rolled in overnight and moistened everything up. After topping off the tank I made my way back to the track. The road started...

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

Day 3 I woke up at the trail head ready to ride. After paying the trail fee, just in time the DNR guy actually helped me break a $20. I hit the trail and found some of the most incredible views of the entire trip. It caught me off guard as I never heard any mention of Lewis trow having such a...

    caR50 Overland Rebuild

Thanks for your earlier tips on fitting old Pathfinder transmissions. I wound up with a Xterra trans stuffed with the one tooth deeper Pathfinder overdrive gears. Dropped my rpms and improved my MPG'S on the highway. What are you planning to regear to?

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

Very mild I did the entire route in 2wd with worn rear tires. Sand was never very deep but was occasionally loose and fun. No mud holes on route at all unfortunately. There was a few puddles of water on route after a thunderstorm rolled in. But, again nothing to make me climb out and lock the...

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

Day 2 I awoke to sun beaming into the tent and loud birds saying whip-poor-will. It was good though after such a relaxing night I was up excited for what the rest of the trail might bring. The rest of the trip was all freestyling no set plans or restrictions. I went for a morning hike to...

    The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail

The Trans Wisconsin Adventure trail has been on my bucket list for many years. The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail was originally designed for dual sport and adventure bikes. The route is 600-630 miles long and consists of paved roads, gravel roads and dirt / sand forest roads. The route starts...

Xterra vs Pathfinder - Why Isn't the R51 More Popular As An Expo Rig?

Independent rear suspension. Xterra and frontier are easier to lift and have more suspension flex with the solid rear axle. Pathfinder is a great platform nothing wrong with it for mild expo terrain.

Poll- Do you actually sleep inside?

I do this as well on solo trips. I'm 6.3 and fit in my tiny Xterra just fine. I have kiddy tent to set all my gear in outside like a portable garage, then sleep in the truck. Much easier to sleep in during a electrical storm. I use magnetic screens as well. Might try it this winter not sure...

    caR50 Overland Rebuild

Wow great to see this rig still in use, a true legend. I love the trans idea, wish I knew about it when I rebuilt mine. Flowmasters rust pretty hard core in the midwest, mine has surface rust from just sitting in the garage uninstalled. They do have high gauge steel construction though so it...

    Silvers Xterra Build Thread

Thanks after that last trip to Colorado with $1500 bikes clacking into each other something had to be done. My buddies fork pretty well grounded into my rear cassette.

    Silvers Xterra Build Thread

Finally upgraded my bike rack. Took a little custom fabrication but I could not possibly be happier with the end result. Lots of departure angle, zero bike movement. Doesn't block the license plate or tail lights. Going to be awesome on the trails this year.

    Good source metric bolts

Yeah it's a shame the bolts are so hard to find. Heil coiling the threads to a different pitch or retapping to the next larger size is seeming like the best option.

    4Runner or GX470?

As long as your family isn't to big a 3rd gen isn't a bad option. But, the Gen 4 gets big power and cargo upgrades. With that said they are fantastic little trucks my brother drives one has over 250k on it pretty much all original and drives like new. Before you buy confirm the timing belt has...
