    Chevy 6.5l Turbo Diesel.

Nice looking burb zukium. I miss my 95 6.5 suburban. its was pretty much stock other than PMD re-location, newer water pump and D-max fan and clutch kit. Towed great and was a great camper. It had 340k on the original engine and trans when I sold it. Guy I sold it to just hit 400k in it...

    Boomer the Quadravan 4x4 Camper

How does this thing do in the rough stuff... it seems like it would be very top heavy. Not talking about rock crawling but some off camber ruts can easily be found on fire roads around here. One day i'll have a 4x4 van just like this.

    Classic Bronco

sorry about that I thought I had posted up some pics. its no where near what i'd call an expo vehicle, whole point of the thread was to see other first gens that have been "expod" to see if putting a new body on it was worth it.... for now it is staying as is and going to rough the...

    Classic Bronco

Thanks everyone for the insight. Got mine today. 4bt with a SM435 (next year that will change to a NV4500) It was a wheeler so the body is beat but will be getting worked on as me and the wife learn to weld and patch Hydroboost is the first thing on my list to do. Does already have 4 wheel...

    Classic Bronco

Yeah i've read that about the adding OD.... in my mind though the manual was a lot shorter than the auto that ford put in there in 73 so the OD shouldn't really effect it a ton if putting on the manual. But I'd much rather do a NV4500 instead. Much better trans over all. An allison is huge in...

    Classic Bronco

About to pick up a 68 bronco from a friend. How do these things do as expo vehicles?? I know i'll most likely have to get a trailer for gear fitment as it is much smaller than my current land cruiser. It does however have a 4bt already in it. (SM435) so will need to do a ranger OD or find...

    ExPo 100 Series Registry

Got to say it first... I hate the 20" rims on the truck they were there when I bought it and i've only had it for 2 months so I haven't been able to replace them yet. 1. Year, model, color, etc: 98 UZJ100 Silver 2. Name of owner/screen name: Lt1fire 3. How long have you owned your 100...

Looking at 100 series need some pointers

It does have a minor lift on it. OME shocks all around and i'm guessing springs in the back but the front does look lower. I've never messed around with a torsion bar lift so not sure if the ones I was looking at were stock or not. I'm going to have a local yota dealer look over it on friday...

Looking at 100 series need some pointers

Belt was changed at 204k currently has 260k Typical small used car dealer they bought it at auction and didn't know anything about it but had the sticker there in plain sight. Had a reverse and blinker out. a little surface rust underneath. Seemed to have a slight lift... Had OME shocks on...

Looking at 100 series need some pointers

I've had cruisers before, most notably my 80 series but never a 100. Going to look at a 100 tonight and need some pointers at what to look for. I know about the timing belt and the dealer doesn't know when it was last done and will use that to bargain it down. Are there any other problem...

    OIL FILTER ISSUES....

He is most likely talking about the made in Japan filter vs the made in (hmmm I forget where the new ones are made) filters. Although I have hated fram filters my entire life the new fram ultra synthetic ones are getting amazing reviews on bob is the oil guy and also many of my fellow lexus...

    Extra Tall Options

At 6'8 I can understand the need for a larger vehicle especially if you are going to sleep in it. I've had three vehicles that fit the bill. 92 land cruiser - the 91-92 had non power seats so had more leg room than the later 80 series. If I completely took the second row out (not just folded...

    A domestic "Outlier": Trailblazer?

For a light wheeler/DD/expo rig I personally think the Trailblazer is a great option. That I6 is one of the best and most reliable engines out there. Not much aftermarket support but nothing a someone with fab skills couldn't get around.
