Lets see some full size pictures...

Little is right! I am humored by my “full size” dodge is the same size as my 1997 Toyota 4Runner and is smaller than a 2015 Tacoma “mid-size”.

Lets see some full size pictures...

Figured I would share some pictures of this, considering it is full size, I’m not seeing many (like 5) people building them for overland use, and I am finally going to start building this truck for overlanding after having it for 17 years. I’ll try to be better about documenting my progress...

Just Picked up my first Overland project truck!!! 1996 T100, 3.4, 4x4, 240,000 miles. What to do first?

The 3.4 is in my mind one of the best motors out there. I’d get the “100k” service done on it, just so you have a good reference point on what’s been done. It’s all the seals, timing belt and water pump, and other sundry freshening up. Oil pan and rear main might not be part of that...

Prepping an older 4runner for a trip?

Strongly suggest, on a road trip of this magnitude, you get handy with a wrench. You will have to do work on your vehicle, regardless if it is just general maintenance or a roadside fix. Stuff happens. Most people who don't do their own work also never leave pavement. Rural roads in the...

Well, to be truthful, I should have had these sand blasted and have repainted them properly....All i did was mask the old tires, clean them with brake cleaner and did etching primer and the grey gloss. No clearcoat or anything...they are pitted a bit and the rust is there still...i have to...

I got them from work, after waiting for other wrecked 97-98 4runners to come in with the same brand/tread of spare tire. The Rims are just Toyota 16 inch spare wheels. Probably find them at any parts yard.

I have come to the decision that I need "Invincible" badges on my 4Runner. Think a UK dealership would send one overseas?

If you need any help, let me know. Old LRs are simple enough, and any help to a fellow over lander. I'm going to try to go up Friday/Saturday from Mesa, but I'll caravan with anyone if they want.

I have heard most mud terrains are not the greatest balanced tire, regardless of brand. These all terrains are fantastic I have found. And mine is an automatic too. Pack a starter. I should too...., guess im buyimg one of those soon too.

Is your Brute blue? I may have seen it at the meet and greet at In and Out in February. I used to live about a block from their shop back home. In other news, yes, I am planning on heading up at least one day, two and camp if i can manage it. Just have to see about funds/time/that life...

I always pack extra fluids, belts and filters in my 4Runner....I used to carry a set of new alternator brushes as well in my old Dodge Power Ram. Unsure about the starter, as stick shift trucks can be pull//push started...automatics not so much. Yours is a stick, right? I always carry spare...

I think they called the 3rd gen 4Runners "hilux surfs" overseas. The 3rd gen shares the frame and suspension with the Prado, which I heard somewhere was marketed as the land cruiser Colorado in the uk. Maybe on Wikipedia, so take it with some salt and tequila
