Trail running, Denver area and west?

Anyone interested? I run stuff like Eldorado Canyon's Rattlesnake Gulch, the connector between Eldo & Walker Ranch, the trail around the mesa from Coalton Road out to Marshall Mesa and back, and I plan to do some running at Golden Gate State Park, Walker Ranch loop, White Ranch, Bear/S. Boulder...

    14er hiking (CO)

I'd like to hike "a few" this season, wanted to see if there was anyone else around CO that would be interested. Going to sign up at 14ers.com as well. -Sean

G-wagon camper sighting, HW36 in Boulder, CO

Looked like the front of a G-wagon with the back of a Land Rover...even had a pair of spare tires over the cab! It was a real head-turner, never seen one like it before. Wish I could have taken a picture, it was really cool. Just curious if it belonged to anyone here. -Sean

    Steel Core security tiedowns?

Is anyone using these at the moment? How do you like them? They look like a great mix between a tiedown strap and a cable with a lock, without the lock banging around ;). Thinking about getting a couple sets for fuel, water and cooler since it's even more exposed now than before. Ideas...

Can you guys tell me about the LR3?

My uncle got one recently, and he's all about getting it dirty. Could you guys help me out a bit, I'd be great to have him on some of the trips we do, but I'm not familiar with the rig at all. At a glance it seems nice. What sort of capability does it have... Low range? Lockers? Ground...

Either the ARB compressor is confused, or I am.

It's blowing air out the intake filter. Never mind the part about where it's getting all that air it's throwing out the intake hole (I think from the solenoid, actually)...I'm pretty sure all that air is supposed to be flowing the other direction! All the wiring is correct as per the ARB...

    Need help from handling/suspension gurus...

I want to mount the rear swaybar on the TOP of my rear axle. Normally they're mounted UNDER the rear axle. Will this be a problem, from a handling perspective? Will it change over/understeer? How will it be different from the "stock" position under the axle? I want to mount the bar, I also...

Thinking about getting an ARB RD-90...opinions?

A lot of guys here seem to be running the RD-90, and I can get a smokin' price from one of our guys here :D so I'm thinking about pulling the trigger. How do you guys like them? How do you decide when to use it? Have you discovered any limitations of your vehicle when using it? How often do...

High being 12K-14K feet. I have a JetBoil, do they work fine at that altitude? Thanks, Sean

Need some advice on a (front) winch bumper.

Unfortunately, as much as I like it's qualities, the ARB Sahara bar design for a Toyota Tundra is just a wee bit large for what I like to do. After Sunday's romp, and this week's planned bodywork, I've decided to part ways with the bumper before it makes the signal lamps part ways with the...

    Michelin XL 9.00R16?

I know some of you have run these, or are currently. How do they hold up? How are they on rocks, mud, wet roots...and how do they handle on the pavement? ...And where would a guy get a set, anyway? :p I'm comparing these to a Q78 swamper...bias ply, 35.5x10.5-16. Whichever, the tire will be...

    CO: Wild Horses, 12-13MAY07

We're planning on heading toward Cameo on Saturday morning, assuming the truck is back in one piece in time. From various CO parks & BLM websites: There's a lot of hiking out there too. Dunno where we're camping yet. The 4WD road through the canyon doesn't open til the end of May, but maybe...

Interest in a day trip April 22, CO area?

Anyone? Something on the West side of the front range, it would have to be at lower altitude since everything higher and in trees has a couple feet of snow here and there. We're thinking day trip with hiking and a picnic lunch :). Considering Switzerland Trail through Pennsylvania Gulch (or...

    Garmin ForeTrex 101 "wrist"top GPSR

Just picked up one of these tiny receivers yesterday. Got it at REI (I wanted it *right now*, etc), but they can be found on Ebay for much cheaper--60 to 80 bucks shipped. Had I thought of this sooner, I'd have bought it earlier from Ebay and put the savings somewhere else. I wanted a...

How about a sliding drawer catalogue?

The bumper and slider catalogues are great, I really like seeing what other people have done. What about sliding drawer systems? Anyone willing to post pics and a brief writeup of their solution, similar to the bumper/slider threads? Thanks, Sean

    The Moab Weekend Report

Last weekend was a great time. The snow is melting, and there's life everywhere in the riparian areas. It even rained a little, a steady drizzle that was enough to wet the trail (and make it freakishly slick in places!) but not our spirits, though it did prevent us from passing through a...

    Great online source for STUFF.

http://www.thefirestore.com/ A good chunk of what we take in the backcountry can be purchased there. I've actually noticed a lot of safety outlets carry a lot of the stuff we need, without having to resort to Cheaper Than Dirt :p.
