    Shower Toga

Thanks. Just what I needed ingrained in my brain before coffee.

    Shower Toga

According to the videos, not so much (I haven't tried one, so my response is somewhat limited).

    Shower Toga

At first glance, it looks that way. But then you find out it's sort of like a mumu on steroids. Notice how they can slip out of pants/underpants without raising the skirt (as you would with a mumu).

    Shower Toga

Okay, here's a new product on the market that might be useful for many overlanders, particularly those with limited space but like to stay clean - the Shower Toga. Simply put, it's like a bag with two open ends - on both ends is a drawcord. I won't go into full details here, but check out their...

    New Splitting Maul

For some good forged mauls/splitting wedges, check with a local wood cutting store - one that caters mainly to the chainsaw/logger crowd (I don't recommend going to a big box store for these specialized items). You should be able to get a good wedge for around $20-30 (but a maul will run you more).

    New Splitting Maul

If getting a splitting maul or wedge, one thing to verify is that it is forged, not cast. I bought a cheap cast splitting maul from Big Box Store (HD) and within a year it was cracking due to the pressure from using it with a forged splitting wedge.

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

I think this is the ideal pants - I'll have to order one.

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

That's an option (we discussed earlier - I'm not keen on the dorky belt).

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

I think I found some good shirts in the Magellan's catalog (but still having difficulty finding good pants that don't scream "tacticool").

    Acrylic motorhome windows

Any word on these yet? Quite interested (can drive up and get them - always enjoy the ferry ride to Van Island).

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

I'm sticking with my Smart Wool hiking socks (I use them for everyday wear).

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

It doesn't come with the dorky belt does it? If it does, can you get remove it?

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

I don't wear jeans anymore (other than when playing with the chainsaw), and they don't dry too quick.

    Work/Play Combo Sprinter

Well, today I bit the bullet and purchased a 2006 Dodge Sprinter Van - 2500 High Roof 140 WB (less than 250K miles). The plan is to use it for a combination of work (hauling Simple Shower products from factory to assembly point, home, etc.) and also use it for travel. The intent is to maintain...

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

Great idea (one I had considered, but worry about the quick drying stuff).

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

Not growing up in America, I'm not a typical American and don't have many of the same mannerisms. My goal is to blend in (that is, until I open my mouth, then all bets are off). Of course, in some of the countries I lived, it was obvious I wasn't local (hint: I'm white, and living in Africa...

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

Interesting. Not having been to Europe for a number of years (ok, well, decades) I was unaware that cargo pants were in (but I still don't like them).

    Non-touristy quick dry clothing

Any recommendations on some good clothing that is both quick drying and doesn't look touristy/high adventure (i.e., Chino look, no cargo pockets, etc.). Looking at spending some time on the road in Europe next year but want to blend in as much as possible. I've check Travel Smith and...
