how many 6.7 cummin 2013- owner got emission related problems?

2017 with 43K on the clock. Lots of highway driving, lots of heavy load hauling, and no issues with well, anything. Idling and short trips are the nemesis for emissions equipment laden diesels. They'll work best when they are worked hard.

    Vehicle Selection Dilemma

Spent a year and a half traveling the country and living out of a truck + truck camper with wife and 3 dogs. No regrets, would choose the same setup if we were hitting the road tomorrow. There were only a couple of times where getting out and walking to the back was a nuisance, though mostly...

Best Weld Through Bumper Clevis Mount for 9,000 lbs + Truck?

Strongest shackles I recall seeing are Skookum, but you'll pay. Campbell, Crosby, and Columbus McKinnon don't carry the same rating, but are also a fraction of the cost. Just tread carefully as they often offer alloy shackles and carbon steel shackles, with tangible differences in rated load...

Guess who's back!?! Atl-atl's K5 Blazer + Four Wheel Camper "The Crawlin Cabin" documentation thread!

Get a gooseneck faucet! That was $100 well worth it, and made a ton of difference in the functionality of our camper sink. Those faucets are just too short to adequately fill and wash dishes. I've got good memories of swapping ours out in the parking lot of the Walmart in Anchorage.

2020 Ram 5500 DIY Composite Panel Camper Build Thread

OAL is a reasonable build requirement. They WILL turn you away at certain parks, roads, and campgrounds if you are oversized. Not to mention, if you ever have to ferry your rig, there are oversize requirements there too, though those probably vary by boat. Rig is looking good though. Would...

With no bed or inhibitions about cutting and drilling a new truck, you should be fine. Looking forward to seeing the results, even more looking forward to hearing about the ride post-install.

Upgrades (mild build) to my 2015 Power Wagon.

That is impressive! I Fluid Filmed my truck this past winter too to protect from the salt, and while the truck is no worse for the wear, I've ruined several t-shirts working underneath. Guess its time to go to the car wash and rid myself of the Fluid Film until this November. As far as ditch...

Upgrades (mild build) to my 2015 Power Wagon.

Mild is sometimes best. No need to go crazy. I'd second the ditch lights. May sound and look like a superfluous item, but I can attest to how nice it is having the extra light when maneuvering a large vehicle around tight trails at night. Glad to see that RAM has fixed the drag link issue. I...

What is your choice? powerstroke 6.0, powerstroke 6.4 and Ram3500

2 years, 43K miles later, and the only things I've done outside of the basic maintenance (oil changes, fuel filters, air filter, differential fluid) and recalls has been voluntary. No breakdowns or parts consumed. Been a good truck thus far.

What is your choice? powerstroke 6.0, powerstroke 6.4 and Ram3500

Keep in mind that for the 6.0 and 6.4L Fords, certain repairs call for the cab to be removed. That is not the case for the Ram. Maybe earmark a few bucks for a nice 2 post lift. ;)

Synergy steering issues-4th gen Ram HD

There's mine. Adjuster sleeve is further out than on your truck, and the slot is not lined up. Might want to dial the adjuster sleeve out a bit and try again, see if that helps.

Synergy steering issues-4th gen Ram HD

If that's indeed the case, that is not right. The drag link should be able to rotate, but only at the ball joints; the adjuster sleeves should be fixed in the link by those pinch bolts. The adjuster sleeve should have slots milled into it that allow the pinch bolt to snug both itself, and the...

Do you regret buying a base model truck?

I'm in a 2017 3500 6.7CTD. Price was right at $43K vs. the $52K+ that they wanted for the next trim level up. Biggest thing I miss is blind spot sensors. The truck,, especially when lifted, is so tall with a high waistline that cars get lost in the blind spots very easily, especially at night...

Great White: A Chevy K10 Build

Ugh, tell me about it. After growing up in New England I was spoiled working on cars in CO. Just moved back and was unpleasantly reminded what I was missing when a simple sway bar end link swap required the angle grinder. Antiseize on all bolts in this house too. Fluid film on the underside and...

    Highway robbery with half tons

Past 2 trucks I've purchased were new, due in part to the market for base model trucks devoid of most fluff features being pretty small, so the chances of finding used, unmolested specimens has been tough. Not to mention when said used trucks carry a price break of only $4K for something with...

    10k in upgrades on a ram 2500

Best bet would be to talk to them directly, they are very friendly and can do a better job evaluating your needs vs what they offer and laying out the pros and cons of say, a 2.0 shock vs a 2.5. Carli offers similar packages, btw, and you can't go wrong with either. For reference, when I spoke...

    10k in upgrades on a ram 2500

35s on stock wheels will probably kiss either the radius arm or inner fender plastic/fender flare. Methods or AEVs will help clear the radius arm, but will most likely require trimming or reforming of the fender liner plastic and/or flare. Just something to be aware of, though if you ever run...

2020 Ram 5500 DIY Composite Panel Camper Build Thread

Well that sure looks like it'll live up to the name. I like how they gave you a real skid plate up front, instead of the dinky little side shield that comes with the AEV. I also like the front hitch receiver, the integration of that is really clean.
