    No dissassemble Number 5!!

Then just rebuild the engine and be done with it if reliability and ease of use is number one concern. Sounds like you are trying to do forced induction with minimal investment with parts you already have. If you do go that route, make sure you get aftermarket forged rods and pistons...

    No dissassemble Number 5!!

If you are going low boost, skip the intercooler and go meth/water injection if necessary.

    No dissassemble Number 5!!

My new to me Montero SR is stock but just did VSS, timing belt, waterpump, oil cooler lines, cam seals, etc. My 92 3000GT VR4 I had a built 3.0 but spun a bearing in it before I got a chance to crank it up. (Long story with no definite conclusions). Swapped in a stock 6G74 from a JDM debonair...

    No dissassemble Number 5!!

A 3.8 6G75 crank fits, with a little block clearancing. Use 6g74 rods and aftermarket pistons with the modified pin height. Stock 93mm pistons get you 3.7l or you can bore for more. Be careful with too much bore. The 3.8s have different heads. With the 6g74s you get really close to the coolant...

Looks good without the wood trim. How did you get it off and did you remove it from center console area also?

Montero LS or SRS what to look for?

Hard to say. It was torn apart for a couple weekends as I waited for a couple parts and do some tidying up (painted valve covers, cleaning a lot of gunk to find a leak, etc. It's definitely timing consuming.

Montero LS or SRS what to look for?

Used the hose from my compression tester which has a threaded spark plug fitting. Had to remove the little shrader valve from the spark plug fitting otherwise its one-way and not the way I needed it:).

Montero LS or SRS what to look for?

Look up the blue point tool. It is very easy to use. Also search YouTube for a video on a 3000gt valve stem seal change. The process is exactly the same and his video is very informative. Plus he uses the blue point. Basically you just whack the tool with a big hammer after placing it over the...

Montero LS or SRS what to look for?

They may have different cams but it would only be slightly different since the engines are rated the same for hp and tq depending on where you look. Most call them valve stem seals. Not valve guide seals which may cause confusion if they are thinking you want the valve guides changed. Head...

Montero LS or SRS what to look for?

Blue Point GA317 I believe. $40ish. Yes turbo 6G72 (3.0) and non-turbo 6G74's (3.5) have different cams. Non turbo 3.0 may have similar cams as the 3.5. I took a 6G74 from a Japanese Debonair (fwd sedan) and with minor mods fits into my AWD 3000GT. Swapped on my twin billet 18G turbo kit and...

Montero LS or SRS what to look for?

If you do it yourself it is very cheap. I used Evergreen brand Valve Stem Seals that came with a full engine kit for my 3000GT. (Not all of the gaskets are worth using in the eBay kit but valve covers, head gaskets, exhaust gaskets, intake mani and VSS work very well and they whole lot can be...
