    Pass-through really necessary?

I will agree a pass through is a very very nice addition to a unit. I would recommend an actual lockable pass through and not a class c motorhome or van style walkthrough as they are very hard to ship with any items in the camper due to inability to close it off securely from the cab. We love...

    MAN TGM 13.250 4x4

Nope! Just like pinstripping any vehicle the first few times (it hurts). Then it’s just the price of a large house on wheels. Instagram: weshouldbeadventurers for proof of use ?

Looking for expedition vehicle suitable for family of 5

I completely agree, seats in the front for all (if wanted by the kids). That said my boys ride in box a fare bit, (and it rocks a ton) but funnily enough they look forward at us in the cab and say “boy you guys rock a lot up there” I think a trip like what you are speaking of needs to be seen...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

Interesting, I’m thinking that’s what happened to mine. The pulley damage (mild) made me think something got up in there. Makes sense as I had done a fair bit off off-road right around that time. Nice rig you have.

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

I’m Canadian, so we have the 15 year import rule vs 25 for importing a rig. Mine isn’t quite there so I’m keeping it abroad a bit longer (except for this summer I did travel across Canada) The truck blew a serpentine belt on my hydraulic pump for my winches. Belt flapped around and damaged a...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

On another note, Unicat has also built a carbon fiber truck box, and is certainly shifting that way as well if demand calls for it.

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

This is our Unicat. Is a used Unit, but very low use. We are a family living in it, so bigger is better for us. Camper is 19’ long.

Full timing in an expedition camper.

Hi all. We are headed off to South America soon to live full time (8 months or so) in our expedition truck. I was back and forth on what to get for at least 10 years (owning and using several different options during that time) In my mind a base camp set up (ie road going home of some sort...

Shipping for us was pretty painless, Unicat looked after virtually all of it (the owner of Unicat actually flew to a Canada to help us learn the systems of the truck) Their trucks are literally used on and off road all over the planet. If you want any contact details for pricing, layouts etc...

Unicat has been building camper boxes and 3 point mounting systems for many years. They have learned a lot in this time and seem to have most issues ironed out. Cost wise, very similar to gxv or Earthroamer. Plus today with FaceTime, Skype etc it’s a bit easier to operate across oceans.

Hi Charles, You raise a good point, but with the costs involved in these high end builds, I feel that the time and money spent is worth it. Having a truck with issues later while on your trip hurts too. I’ve seen several $500,000 - 1million dollar units that were so much trouble the customer...

    New Carbon Fiber EarthRoamer

Hi Guys, I’ve recently purchased a used Unicat / MAN combo from Germany and am very pleased with it. I’ve been around many of the North American rigs and manufactures of camper boxes and thought about all of them as options. Except for the idea of building one out myself, I’d certainly...
